Frozen AK - Boots to error message

Ah, I guess it has to happen to someone.

I’ve created a support ticket. It goes like this:

Hi there. My AK no longer works.

I installed the new OS from when OB for RYTM was released. The AK has been working fine since then but I haven’t used OB with it.

I plugged in the RYTM via OB today and that was working fine. Then I plugged in the AK into the same DAW project, after disconnecting the RYTM.

The controls in the VST editor didn’t effect it in the right way. The knobs in the editor were not affecting the right parameters in the AK. Some of them weren’t effecting anything at all. Changes made manually in the AK were not showing up in the editor.

Then, I cycled through some pages on the AK and when cycling through one the attached error message turned up.

I restarted the AK and now it only boots to this error message.

Have tried a few times - it is not connected by OB, there is no USB Plug attached to it, but it only boots to this error message.

Help !

Hmm upgraded OS to the most recent. Still no dice - boots into a different error screen.

Will try reinstalling OS and then, if that doesn’t work, factory reset.

I got the same error on my Rytm. But it is working again after reboot.

I seem to recall someone else having a similar problem with their AK freezing after the first release of Overbridge…???

I’m old, so my memory is faded…

Edit: A word of caution: OS1.20b can functionally brick an AK

Yeah, so factory install did it, kind of.

My AK isn’t talking well with OB. it did before the OS upgrade, and I get the green light in the VST, but I can’t get OB to properly function.

While the RYTM is functioning pretty well, not perfect but we’ll enough to use, the AK OB combo doesn’t make sound via USB. Also, while pre-OS update it worked fine, the controls in the editor don’t effect the right parameters in the AK, some don’t effect anything at all, and none of the changes made in the AK show up in the editor.
