Hello All, AK CV Question

Hello All, my AK arrives today so i am joining the Club. It will be heavily used for controlling
huge Modulars and my question is about the Cables. I ordered the Cables Accessories too.
When you connect to the AK and you split out the 2 CV, how do you know and what determines
which one is Gate and which one is Pitch? I don’t mean in the programming part but the Cable
only, its just 2 Cable connected to 1 hole…how do you know which one is which?

I connect one cable, set it to gate, place some trigs and then switch it between tip and ring in the config and see which one does something. Someone may have a better method!

Well, I used to do this, then I bought a couple of Elektron’s split cable kits which tell you which is tip, which is ring.

When you say you ordered the cables accessories then do you mean the Elektron cable kit? Because if so, as I said above, on the splitter it indicates which side is which.

can you use that splitter box like a dual passive mult in practice ? have you tried ?

I made my own cables and marked the ring see here, but I kinda still hanker after these nice little utility kit things - especially with 3.5mm trs flexibility too

Yeah, they are very handy, especially if you have gear that is both 1/4 inch and 3.5mm, like say you had both an old MS-20 and some newer modular gear.

Haven’t tried using it as a mult in that way. Will give it a go and feedback.
