i have experiences with hardware by MOTU, RME Metric Halo and Roland.
To me the new MOTU AVB Interfaces are really underrated.
They are pristine in soundquality and quite affordable for the amount of connections and the speed with the Thunderbolt conection.
The Software which comes with it is… well a bit annoying, but useful.
RME is in my cuurent setup and to me they are easy to use, soundquality is very very good and the TotalMix FX software makes it quick to program.
Metric Halo as it’s point on the sound quality, the converters are very good, but i hate the control software which came with it, it’s so stupidly made, everytime i wanted to use it it made me almost cry
Roland Octacapture was also very cool, good sound and easy to use.
So make your choice upon points like, how many inputs do i need, how often do i need to control things on the editor of the interface etc…
