Hey now, that doesnā€™t give you license to follow up with an official dad joke. We have standards!

I only follow standards that I set for myself.

Someone named Ast3rix posted this fire in the Force subā€¦ I felt itā€™s worth more than the 3 upvotes she got on that dead-ass sub. Just passing the love. Peace!

It sounds like it could be in a movie.
What type of movie or song would this be perfect for?

Thatā€™s Tom Cruise flying his spaceship over a desolate and ruined planet earth, reflecting on memories past and how his wife of many years was really an AI android placed there to control him by the overseers before confronting them and kicking their alien asses in a climax of self sacrificial destruction and glory.

Pretty much any/all current Netflix/Apple TV/Hulu/Disney shows where millenials/Gen Z are crying about their ā€œtraumaā€ and other feelings. Or any season of Star Trek: Discovery.

What did I say to get my comments flagged?

Probably the politics. Anyway, letā€™s get this thread back on track. Anyone looking forward to the next evolution of Force OS? Think itā€™ll be minor changes, or something big?

Then they shouldā€™ve flagged both of our posted?

Anyway, back to the Force. With all the user feedback in 4 years that Akai has received & now that the chip shortage is kinda better, I think itā€™s time for a mk2. Or at least give us the ability to program tempo changes & the MPC song mode/clip follow feature.

What improvements would you like to see on the Force?

donā€™t know why everybody is always slippin when it comes to tempo, akai usually didnā€™t do thatā€¦ might be a blessing in disguise though because I donā€™t know if the force had tempo automation before if I would have been able to resist it in spite of itā€™s sizeā€¦ tempo automation and warp marker editing would probably make me run out and buy one right now though, in spite of push 3

Can you explain this?

theyā€™ve usually implemented bpm per sequence in their beat machines

Ok got you. Not only was it bpm per sequence, you could put multiple bpm in 1 sequence. On the 1 of the Force hacked OS they have this & the MPC song mode, plus an Euclidean sequencer. After I finish moving all my MPC2500 beats to the Force Iā€™ll get the hack. But I shouldnā€™t have to result to that when Akai could do it officially or maybe theyā€™re planning to drop those features little by little, but even if thatā€™s the case itā€™s been 4 years now! Come on already.

the hack for the Force or for the new mpcs?

I answered your question in my post.

custom progressions are great on the Force, have installed many, shout out to Musicians Paradise and someone who converted the Roland J-6 ones as well

When I now look at at the measly few ARP patterns I yearn to add more!
But I remember videos warning that while custom arps may be possible but risk messing something up:

has anyone added custom ARP patterns to their Force?

AFAIU they are just .midi files but maybe not straight forward how to get them into the right place on the system file system (and if having more of them could cause some performance/loading issues)

Is this correct? Thereā€™s a Force hack that gives tempo changes?
