Yes, you have to save the kit within the project before saving the project itself otherwise it won’t be saved.
Ran into a similar issue yesterday. Worked on a pattern using a freshly assigned Kit. Regularly hit save Kit save Pattern as usual. Switched AR off. On again, continued to work. Switching to another pattern to copy over some sounds. Return, Save Kit, save Pattern… Off again. On again. Kit reverted to an older state missing some sounds. Too bad I didn’t save the project in between.
This feels kind of unreliable. It works for me the way I described totally fine in most cases (guesstimate 95% ?!), but sometimes it fucks up. Hard to reproduce, of course, which makes it difficult to file a ticket to support.
I always save both kit and project in this order. Both have fast shortcuts.

It’s just that out of forgetfulness I’m saving projects only on bigger milestones. Because usually it works like it should. Glad there wasn’t anything of real importance affected this time.
…and if they spent less time flagging my posts, we wouldn’t be discussing this issue either.
