too big, even if the original was much bigger

As its a kickin’ sample based drum machine with design features does this make the Jomox Alphabase redundant? This does way way more.(and has micronudge i believe).

It has begun.

Productively so though --you notice the surface is tightly packed with controls.

I think this latest picture – put up today on the Behringer Facebook page – is kinda old, so we’ll see how it looks when released. Maybe this fall in the stores.

yes, but … i’m going to grab it.
it’s better and faster than fiddling with samples.

Will this one break the $1K mark? lotta controls in this one.

id guess Ā£350 / $349 - $399 … a bit more than rd8/rd9 due to all the sliders.
i wont be buying one… certainly not till people have them , tested them , a few firmware updates… checked the outputs are balanced, midi sync works … that type of thing…

Give it two years and there will be a MK2 that fixes the issues and is better for the same price.

a mk2 version of an existing design… it’ll never catch on.

That’s what they did with their 808 clone :man_shrugging:t3:

Rimshot level aside I think that was more about the integration of their 662 chip that wasn’t in production when they brought out the original. Same with the MS1 it would seem

I’m happy it’s full sized rather than the recent obsession with tiny boxes.

behringer arent the only company to release mk2 versions with some fixes / improvements …
ive just bought a mk2 device… its got stereo samples… sound familiar… behringer are not unique.

i dont need 8bit / 12 bit, but the mixer would give nice instant ability to mix.
i hope it makes everyone happy…

Pretty sure the MK2 808 was adding a more accurate circuit (why wasn’t it accurate to begin with) and fixing SNR issues not adding features or improving CPUs like the Digitakt 2. It also came out under two years after the original not 7 years.

Just saying, it’s already happened where their ā€œfaithful recreationā€ wasn’t so faithful after all and needed a new hardware version to fix that. That sort of turnaround is not the kind of thing that builds faith within a product or company, Behringer or not.

Because CA hadn’t brought out their version of the BA662 when the MK1 dropped. The IC was used in the original as well as other Roland gear of the time and has been out of production for years. This was a problem for a long time for people building 303 clones like the x0x etc. It’s generally accepted that it imparts a specific flavour

This is one of the ones I can’t wait for but as we know the wait from the ā€œalmost readyā€ posts to actually being able to buy one on Sweetwater can be a year. So 2025 for me, I’m guessing.

It may be a little sooner than that now.

I think this is where Behringer are really cornering the market. The prices of the OG Linndrum are insane.
