Chase Bliss Generation Loss MKII

They have an European store with free shipping. At least my genloss MK2.

Here’s another demo with a focus on Ambient and Electronica

I love the look of that limited edition, I must have totally missed it when it came out.
Anyway, I’m happy with my standard edition, it’s a really satisfying pedal if you look for that kind of sounds and aesthetic. Also, I recently found this long-form review where the author shares some interesting thoughts that go well beyond the usual gear review. Some of those words made me relate to Gen Loss in a deeper way, but it’s hard for me to explain. It could be an interesting read, whether you have this pedal or not (yet).

I’m interested in a GLmk2 (cuz can’t get Ribbons) but only with the bass mod and low-latency mode, I asked Chase Bliss if they’d ship one with bass mod already done and they said all of them have shipped like that since October of 2022.
“As of Oct 2022, all Gen Loss ship with these updates already done.”

Can anyone confirm this? The low-latency firmware too? Seems an odd default given the drawbacks. But maybe they mean just the bass mod done but not the latency, which would make more sense.

And as much as I like my A4mk2 it always needs some warm processing, figured the A4+GL combo would be a cool dawless fx to consider. Tbh all I want is the Kinotone ribbons but it’s not available (especially not in the EU)

Indeed, high-latency GL2 are now well-sought limited editions ^^

Huh, low latency?.. so this is something different than the bass mod, I hadn’t heard about this

I bought the limited edition white one in December and CB confirmed all of those had the mod and latest firmware.

Yes, different to bass issue.

Early firmware had higher latency, so when using it as send and mixing with original signal there was noticeable delay. Especially noticeable on drums or anything with lots of transients. They updated firmware to reduce latency.

ok so no more HP filter bass cut, cool, however I didn’t think they’d include the low-latency in the main official fw due to the downsides (linked in my comment above), I saw it as an alt FW to choose, but hey sounds good to me

This is the message I got from their support. Sounds great to me. It’s an always on guitar pedal for me. One of my favorite pedals.

I remember when they released the lower latency firmware they said they took the tough decision to have the lower latency firmware be the default while having the higher latency as the alt firmware. They knew about the downsides but decided to stand behind the lower latency and allow people to go back a firmware if they wanted.

I received this message too

I usually use mine on an individual output from my A4, going back into the Ext. In. So just one track gets the fuzzies and glitches.

Hi,

I’ve bitten the bullet and just orderd a Gen Loss MKII (standard version) from their EU shop.

Is it true that they now ship only modified HW with FW 1.1.0?

The posts right above this would seem to indicate so. But if unsure, why not ask Chase Bliss? Based on the responses quoted in the posts above, they seem to reply to questions about this quickly and often.

As most of us they don’t work during WE. I’m going to ask them.

I had a response from them. Yes it’s true. The pedal comes with the modification.

I have wanted a Gen Loss II for a very long time, and Chase Bliss currently has a 10% off with free worldwide shipping so am very tempted.

I know in a thread I just made I said that I am giving up on buying expensive items online shipped across the world due to a current “situation” with a certain retailer, but I would make an exception for Chase Bliss because they made an RMA for me super hassle free and fast.

Am using an SP404mkii with the Lo-Fi Casette / Vinyl Sims as an end of chain now, does anybody have a comparison how those compare to the Gen Loss?

I keep telling myself that I could get an IOS plugin too if all I am doing is sticking it on the end, but you know, once you get hardware in your hand you just end up using it differently - or maybe not even using it at all when reality misses expectations

I have both. The Gen Loss MKII is very good. I was not disappointed. It’s also very customizable, so you can dial it in to taste. Highly recommended. The danger is that it will probably lead to more CB pedals. I just got a Warped Vinyl HiFi which I also love.

You’re not kidding. As soon as one Chase Bliss pedal comes over and finds out where you live, it goes and invites all its friends over.
