Current sounds coming from your gear (Part 2)

Niiiiice. Soo cool hearing this. Some gnarly grit in there. :black_heart::purple_heart:

For sure you could add the velocity to the mix, i will have to experiment with that for sure. I guess i kept them at 100 as the SH-101 doesnā€™t have velocity, keeping it beefy, although it could be super handy to either take heavy bass or loud bright highs.

Also happy to hear the patch loads ok. That version should have all the previous uploads in it as well.

yeah every pattern loads without issues, one thing I noticed that you probably save your project at the end of the recording, so when you start it itā€™s like you need to watch the video in reverse lol
imo you can save the project with the init state and not after recordingā€¦

Yeah totally, i literally forget to do this every time :rofl:

Although itā€™s similar at the end it can change quite a bit, youā€™re totally right. Iā€™ll put a post-it on my desk. Cheers :+1:

Ah yeah, I rarely use the PERF but need to more. Itā€™s get really watery playing about with it on that patch.

Niiice, itā€™s so great hearing these :black_heart::black_heart:

You using the DN fx again? How do they compare to the Rytm fx?

never thought of comparing themā€¦ in terms of control they are identical, in terms of sound both are great, the biggest difference is the sounds you put through them, on AR you canā€™t send external instruments through the effects (which is a shame) and the samples/analog engines are quite unique to the machineā€¦ but you have fx track so you can param lock them or whatever which is great.
both sounds good imo and sometimes I experiment with sending AR > DN to bring in chorus and additional delay/reverb layer

Yeah itā€™s definitely a shame but I guess as you say they are just different and prods at different directions. All good.

This has been really cool hearing different versions of this patch, even with the similarities there are huge differences which i really like.

Iā€™ve always wanted to do a release of multiple versions of the same track, with such small differences between them, the essence the same but each sounds very different the more you compare.

We did a similar thing with UAN0006 and UAN0006r on the label, which is close, but i guess where as it was a loop, this Rytm being a patch, opens up the possibilities more but still keeping its DNA. Working with a patch helps i feel. Reminds me of early Max/MSP patch music when the patches were shared.

I also always really like the 90ā€™s PWOG EP Rythm Vol. 1 which was basically a load of variations on a Roland R8 rhythm. The irony that Iā€™m reminded again by this and itā€™s the Rytm that reminds me of Rhythm Vol. 1 :upside_down_face:

DT/DN, with a drone-y loop of Typhon sampled and pitched down on DT.
reached over and hit record, hence the abrupt start/stop.
