Digitakt II 1.02/1.03 : Bug reports

Only updated to 1.02 a couple of days ago and I have not had this issue before.
I keep getting 1 sample missing when loading a project, and not always the same sample. First couple of times it happened I just loaded the project again and everything was there.
I have just reloaded a project 3 times and each time had a different sample missing. It’s pretty annoying.

The final step of the 1.02 upgrade is an automated fix of the plus drive, do you remember seeing that happen ?

Asking because this sounds like the kind of thing that was claimed to be fixed in 1.02.

EDIT: Were the samples transferred with the latest version of transfer ?

i do have strange behavior when browsing for a sample which is already used with trigs. i currently don’t know how to exactly reproduce this but it seems like it’s enough to replace an already playing sample with other several samples to make it mute itself.

JFYI - support has confirmed the bug and have forward it to the developers.

Elektron support have responded confirming that on MIDI tracks, VAL9 to VAL16 should be controllable by the NRPNs listed in the manual and they’ve been able to replicate the bug where they’re not responding to the input. So they’ve passed it on to engineering.

And CCs I hope !
There are less track parameters than available CCs, but some are not assigned, like Slot.
Midi tracks VAL 1-16 CC numbers could be the same as audio tracks parameters, for a different purpose. Elektron decided to choose a CC per function…but it limits possibilities…

I’d love CCs for Euclidean parameters!

Sometimes I can’t deactivate the recording mode and whatever button I push it creates triggers copy pasting. Very annoying as I am obliged to turn the DTII off

I do not remember seeing that.
The samples that went missing were already on the digitakt from before the upgrade. I have not had that issue with samples transferred since getting 1.02. And yes, I upgraded transfer the same time as getting 1.02.

I suppose the automated fix might not have happened somehow ? Whatever … whether that happened or not, looks like you need Elektron support.

I have a recurring problem, I don’t know if it has already been reported. Despite saving, each time I turn the machine back on on the current project, the velocity of tracks 1-8 has dropped to 1, whereas it was not the day before.

I specify, just in case, that the DTII is not powered at all at night because of possible storms, we are at the end of the power line in the countryside, and subject to surges. So as a precaution I unplug everything at night.

Do you receive midi from external gear ?
(CC4 controls velocity)

Do you power off the DT first?

Hello. Does anyone has this problem?! When I switch songs in song mode, new song start play form second row and miss first one

No, I don’t.

(edit) Oh, I misunderstood. Yes, I turn it off before unplugging the power supply to the home studio.

Before I open Logic, generally. But after the Mac.

(edit) A moment ago: I was on Logic, I quit the software, and I saw all the velocity tracks 1-8 go down to 1. Tracks 9-16 are fine. I don’t understand why, but it seems quitting Logic does this.

Ok so it seems that Logic sends CC4 to DT, on midi channels 1-8.
Not a bug.

I don’t see how. I don’t use Midi between Logic and DTII one way or the other. Just USB audio.

It also activates USB midi.

Check your DT Midi Port Config to deactivate USB MIDI, or disable what is sent from Logic.
