’ a mono synth?’ Ah yes, that’s true!
Chord mode aside, I agree with your sentiment, a lot of features may still come to Syntakt. I appreciate the positivity, and ultimately I still love my Syntakt. Nobody but Elektron knows what they have planned, but I feel like it could get at least 2 more large updates in its lifecycle.
They can’t implement chords the same way as DN2, but they could allow track linking for shared voices / partial polyphony, or even add an expanded / different chord machine on the digital tracks.
ST does have a Chord sound engine, but it’s not very easy to create a good chord progression without too much effort. An option, like on the DT2, to link the scale to the possible chords would be a great feature
very cool update, especially liked the ability to quickly assign samples to tracks directly from the sample folder…
I really hope that this might appear in updates on DT OG…
To accomplish this the SY CHORD machine would need to be revisited, and the problem with changing positions around on a machine is that LFO destinations will most certainly break. That also applies to preexisting patches, so a pretty complex problem on paper. Not worth the effort IMO, especially for a machine that most people don’t seem to even enjoy from a tone perspective (SY CHORD).
Track swap is also not going to be an easy port on Syntakt because of the difference between digital and analog tracks, the latter being hard locked to positions.
I agree with the first half of your sentence. I strongly disagree with the tone aspect though, ST is as strong a melodic synth for me as it is a drum machine. That’s why I’d love if they ported the chorus and arp. Those shouldn’t cause any issues.
But yeah, let’s return to being happy that Elektron just gave us a bunch of nice stuff .
i like it for drones on unisson mode and lfo sweep on the wavetable !
Nice, can you please tell me how you managed to get a black/ yellow screen?
I miss it so much
Apologies if this has been asked and answered before but I’m sneaking into the forums from the office and my lead is sitting behind me so… are the chords in chord memory stored per pattern or per project?
they’re stored per pattern, it’s awesome
It’s not my video but I suspect a swap (between DN or DT) or Elektron gave one to Ricky.

Ricky sharing the knowledge as always.
The “Scale Lock” option in the Personalize menu combined with editing all the locks on a track is the hidden gem of this update. It lets you transpose all the trigs on a track while keeping it in the chosen scale! Finally! Just hold any of the trigs, hold the func button, and change the note, all of the notes edited this way will stay in scale! This makes it so much easier to make an A part, then make a similar B part but at a different scale position. So many nice little features in this update.
kit save bug has no impact on elk-herd, as elk-herd doesn’t deal with kits directly.
I saw a video of a guy using the chord tool to dial in a very specific chord progression while taking into account the optimal chord inversions and spread. as soon as the homie flipped on the arpeggiator switch and then duplicated the progression for some pads to run underneath I hit that order button. instant purchase.
based on the diffused light (black parts too bright/colored) it may simply be color acetate sheet
What video was this?
