DN2 made me forget I had a DT2 for a couple of weeks. So dope. I love this box man.
yes, choke groups too
now that the âlfoâ page has been changed to âmod,â itâs safe to assume that thereâs a possibility that envelopes may be included in a future update
it would be awesome if there were an option to define envelope stages by a selectable number of steps in the sequencer as opposed to vague numerical values
for example, you could have an attack stage of 16 steps, a decay stage of 32 steps, etc
this would help facilitate automation without having to do the weird lfo math
i dont know if anyone else agrees with this, but i would prefer if we at least had the option to prevent preset and kit bank pools from skipping between banks when you hold down the knob while scrolling. i prefer that functionality to allow me to scroll more quickly through the selected bank only without skipping into subsequent banks
I do like that functionality in the modulation setup menus though (mod source select). thats very efficient and useful. i just find the bank select + track buttons to be more quick and easy (esp with my muscle memory) to switch banks purposefully and i want to scan within a single bank that iâve selected, not through all banks of sounds or kits
also the manual track quantization needs to be fixed. i dont know whats so weird about this behavior but i never had this exact problem with the og digitone. i did have problems on the og dn where the record head would overwrite old notes, rather than adding to the pattern, which i did dislike. but here, the actual quantization seems off somehow. as if it has its own swing applied or something. just a different quantize algorithm or something. maybe the increments/percentages are just different? maybe its a different range now? but it feels much harder to get a pattern that ive manually played in via a midi keyboard, to snap in gradually to the grid as a deliberately and slowly increase the track or pattern quantization percentage
this is kind of out of the realm of realistic, but i would love something like an additional envelope or two in the lfo page. something that can hold the modulation rather than just cycle it and fade out with an envelope if i dont want it to constantly change back and forth, and something which i can control the rate of, maybe a rate/time param over the eg. i like velocity mod but i cant control the speed, and i like the single shot lfos but i cant sustain the modulation the way id like to with the current lfo options
Nope unfortunately, I know that pain well
with more parameters, is it possible to have more parameter lock memory?
has anyone else run into this?
Show MIDI tracks on Trig LEDâs in Track Trig Mode
I think it would be incredibly useful to be able to see at a glance which tracks of the current pattern are configured as MIDI machines. In track trig mode, this could be indicated by some trig LEDâs in a dim/bright blue depending on if there is a sequence. This would help with identifying patterns and troubleshooting missing or wrong sounds.
I miss the track layering being on the unison button on my new digitone. I would love the unison button to have like a page feature where we could go to that zone easily.
Not sure if it should be bug report or feature request, but I feel that live recording should not plock velocity if using the internal keyboard (unless you are actively adjusting it while live recording). Reason being that if youâre just trying to record in your melody line, if you adjust velocity later it wonât affect the recorded notes unless you go back and plock all of them again.
256 steps ?
Multi mode: assign sounds to the 16 trig buttons and use them to record sound locks to one track.
Hello , really wish elektron staff read this one
this screen (i should say popup ) is lame and doesnât help me while i choose my next pattern
look what sonicware has done on the cydrums is very good
looking in the digi manual i see we have a capacity of 8 text lines
so no need to occupy 35% scrren with bank F for exemples because if i had a list of the 16 current patterns (fullscreen) in the current bank i will instantly know wich bank iâm in
wouldnât it be nice ?
Yes, I run into this recently⌠Ridiculous. I hope itâs just a programming mistake and memory is properly dimensioned for 16 tracks.
Presently, according to the manual, as I understand it, you can lock a maximum of 80 parameters per pattern. Each parameter only counts once, but on a per-track basis.
For example, if youâve got a 128-step sequence, and you parameter lock the filter cutoff on every step of a single track, youâve still only used 1 of the 80 available parameters. If, however, you do that on all 16 tracks, youâve now used 16 of the 80 available parameters.
Having multiple sound locks, as far as I know, also only counts as 1 parameter, per track.
So, if you spread that out evenly across 16 tracks, thatâs 5 parameters that you can lock, ad infinitum, per track.
Is that huge? No.
Is it nevertheless adequate in practice, if you know this going in? I think so.
Keeping in mind that parameter locks should be used to accommodate unique modulation scenarios, and not otherwise used to replace envelopes, LFOs, and stock synth parameters.
And if you do need more, you could always modify a given sound, save it as a new sound to the sound pool (in as many variations as you need), and sound lock those variations per step, which would then only count as 1 parameter per track.
Cheers!
I would really like to have 2 independent delays and reverbs. One of each is very limiting when trying to make a whole track on the Digitone.
For instance a solid techno groove with reverb in the rumble requires entirely different reverb settings than a lush pad. And very often you might need both in the same track.
I can work around that on Digitakt via resampling but on Digitone itâs hard to achieve satisfying results.
Also:
I would like an option to disable track mutes affected by temporary save / reload when in pattern mute mode. I know you could technically use the performance kit function to exclude pattern mutes from reloading, but the problem is that you need to disable it before moving to the next pattern if you donât want the kit to carry over. Hard to remember in a live situation. That goes for Digitakt as well.
Copy songs(the structure) from one project to another.
Donât think it is possible at the moment?
Iâm preparing a live set and I want to avoid loading different projects as much as possible. Iâve already created some song structures for some of the tracks I want to play, in different projects, but I would like to copy them into one (live)project, so I donât have to start from scratch.
Hello,
I would like to request an enhancement for the Digitone 2âs automation functionality. Currently, automation recording is limited to a single pattern (up to 128 steps). It would be extremely beneficial if users could record or apply automation continuously across multiple patterns in Song Mode.
This feature would allow for a seamless automation curveâfor example, automating a gradual volume increase over four consecutive patterns without having to manually break the automation into separate segments. Such a continuous automation mode would greatly improve workflow and creative performance capabilities, making it easier to design evolving changes that span an entire song.
Thank you for considering this enhancement. I believe it would be a valuable addition for many users seeking more flexible automation options.
Best regards,

edit, create and sequence tracks in song mode from overbridge. in any daw.
Add the SY Tone engine that is available on the Syntakt to the DN2 please. Itâs such an amazing, immediate synth that just instantly sounds good and modulates like a beast.
Let me add my voice to the chorus asking for arps and retrigs on the midi machine
