Elektron at NAMM 2018

It would be so sick to create an Elektron style FM synth that used actual 8-bit DACS for the operators.

I miss my Monomachine :frowning:

I vote for MnM SFX-80 in the new larger box :

8 tracks: poly freely assignable ( e.g 2 x 4 voice polysynths, or 1 x 7 voice & 1 x mono bass machine… )
Loads of new machines ( VA , FM , Sample/ Granular ( imports samples from USB / card ) Drum track, Wavetable …
tonnes of LFOs / mod matrix possibilties - ( the nearly modular nature of the original is what made it shine )
3 x pairs of stereo ins for new Input / mixing machines to play with, using sweet new track FX machines
New sequencer tricks from latest gear, 8 x MIDI tracks & at least 2 CV/gate outs like A4 (or 6 MIDI, 2 x CV/gate)
Kick ass master / stereo FX: EQ, compression, distortion, filter etc. like a digital Heat

I’d be back in the game sooner than you can say “Hector”

id buy it in a flash

(as long as it has extensive modulation. I fear scaled-back DT style machines lacking in that department)

Digiwave. Or Digitone.

:3lektron: ELEKTRON OCTOKATT

A small USB box for the Digitakt with 8 individual 1/4" outs.

since we’re guessing - how about an Elektron GrainMachine?

Hardware granular done right using some of the OT wizardy plus other bits in an amped up format.

I think the Digitakt is Elektron’s best granular box. Done.

True! However- the beauty of their smaller discount boxes with the promise of OB down the line offers an immediate and fun workflow.

That’s a serious piece of kit-with the fun and price of a toy.

An Elektron Digital Synth like the Digitakt would make an excellent surplus to the completion of my current studio.(Also I miss the MnM)

no doubt - a Monomachine in Digitakt Format is absolutely necessary and should be Elektrons next machine!

Elektron will announce something huge…

They will announce that Cenk is actually a robot with 4 AI brains…

The mk2 should be release after a 6 month beta period, with updated AI and 4 arms

Monomachine in Digitakt format is on my top wishlist as well!!

Conditional trigs
Ctrl-All
Overbridge
4x outputs should be fine for me:
option to change the routing 2x stereo, 1x stereo + 2x mono or 4x mono
7 tracks for the synth engines
1 fx track
Digitakt filter, reverb and delay and chorus/flanger

Probably cool but at some point a Real New Instruments is more exciting to me… (i remember the RYTM under the Cube, but Fu** what’s this new machine from them, even the Digitakt, even the Analog Heat gives me this kind of excitement… a bit less though)

Rather than recycling old concepts even if it’s improved (like MK2 are no doubt)
To me it would lacks a little desire to conquer … sparkle interest, revolutionize things, see how users are using a new concept to their advantages … Attract new musicians by a spirit of innovation. I see it more like this personally and I hope to see this kind of thing happen on the part of ELEKTRON Next…

The original MnM concept came out in 2003 I think if Elektron decided to approach digital synthesis after 14 years from their first time that it would surely be like something completely new. And that’s exciting to me.

i hope for…

digitakt - stable os , doing everything its supposed to without easy to reproduce bugs , possibly a few surprise features but somehow i think in 5 years time there would still be a ‘feature request’ thread …
overbridge working as expected , with no easy to reproduce bugs , fully compatible with latest win/mac os , some backwards compatibility , works with old and latest versions of live, logic etc etc.

if there is a new device , it’s more (to the public…) than a box with an lcd and promises.

Both Thomann & Musicstore retired the AK from their catalogue.
I do hope it means a Mk2 is coming (I had just decided to buy one :open_mouth:)
