With sound locks I would like to see more of the name, it makes it difficult to find the sound to be locked, I don’t see why it couldn’t be full screen
Well I own Digis, so Elektron, bring this to these Machines!
What I had in mind might be slightly different though. Keep in mind I do not know the side function on the big boxes. You would press two trigs that hold locks of a given parameter, select the parameter by pushing the appropriate encoder (as you may have multiple locks on one step) and the machine would interpoate betweeb these two values. Renoise does this for example, you select a range of lines in an FX column, press cmd-I and tada, interpolated values are computed the two values.across the range.
I always forget to try slides… thanks for reminder!
Jus updated this idea to incorporate @craig 's Random TRC, so there are now two TRCs specific to this (now called) Sounds Page idea – ‘SPC’ (Sounds Page Cycle) and ‘SPR’ (Sounds Page Random).
This Sounds Page would also be very handy as a sound board/pallete. A place to copy/paste your sounds (trigs and their locks) back and forth between it and your main seq…
Just curious what is it… any video examples?
Cosmetic improvement:
I wish locked trigs and the lights would flash in time or half time with the tempo,
Especially the Octatrack which can have lights that flash at different rates
Probably not best suited to a hardware implementation, but–
I’d love a sequencer that continuously humanises.
So you’d set an acceptable range of looseness per step - a range showing both how far the beat is allowed to ‘off’, and in what direction. And then a control for the amount of looseness – with that being calculated dynamically, rather than as a one-off ‘humanise’ operation with results that remain static.
Does anyone know of a sequencer that already does this?
page + up or down to transpose the page would be good
Monomachine?
the OP-Z has two recording modes, one of them is almost what you describe.
the parameter locks on the Z are such underrated
Here you go!
Somehow he uses the mouse to do it, but as usual with trackers, you can do all of this with the computer keyboard. This applies to FX columns too.
What about setting up a muted trig before that’s 8:8 and put the 1-7 trig set to -pre
So it won’t play when the previous trig is true.
yep i know that trick but doesnt work if trig before it is used,
i find 256 steps to be the perfect length for a phrase or pattern
and often would like to remove trigs at the end of the pattern before entering the next.
there already are negative trigs for pre/nei/fill
I would love negative trc 4:4 8:8 etc was added at the very end past the regular trc,
sometimes its more useful than adding trigs
it’d be cool if you could somehow use the arrow left & right buttons to step thru your pattern step by step (with / without audio). a bit like you can do on certain trackers.
would mean you could focus on segments while editing long patterns.
This is from Norand Mono synth :
Powerful Undo-Redo
Never restrain your creativity by fear of loosing previous work. Mono’s undo-redo allows for up to 1024 actions to be Undoed.
Elektron should take note of this feature, it’s doable.
Y’all should make sure to submit these ideas to feature request email i think the playmodes seems like a pretty easy one to implement tbh but who knows if that goes against a design philosophy or something!
a big big +1 to note conditions.
select a scale, stick a bunch notes on a step, select the probability and it picks one or more of the notes on each pass.
enhancing the melodic side of the sequencer is top of my list
I’d go as far as a +
agreed
I just emailed em about it
