Are you on Android? I use Vanced Manager to watch YouTube videos - it’s a free app (no idea what they’re doing in the background to make it free) which can be found online (not the ones on the app store - they’re shit) and honestly it’s made YouTube fun once more. Obviously it’s still full of desperate egomaniacs and psycho actors but I haven’t watched an ad in such a long time I’ve almost forgotten what they’re like.
nah mate unfortunately ios so im stuck with it. used to use some youtube hacked app that blocked it but that stopped working so im shit out of luck without jailbreaking im pretty sure and i cant really be arsed with all that, havent tried it in about 10 years so im sure its more complicated now
Brave browser your friend.
Have you looked into YouTube++?
It worked… here are people talking about
I feel bad for YouTube creators. I think they know they have to use those thumbnails to get the clicks. It irritates the shit out of me too, but it’s probably the equivalent of eye catching billboards or something. I can’t bring myself to do it, but still wonder if I should…
I mean, even Rick beato does it. The man, the legend.
The algorithm slave.
I love it how he pauses the clip and badly explains the most Jazziest of Jazzy terms “The Pocket” after about 2 seconds of music, and then proceeds to verbally fellate each and every band member for finding there groove after a difficult 2 seconds of listening.
Every single reaction video is downstream of an infamous video involving fewer cups than people. Investigate at your own risk.
Thanks for bringing that back up
Just when I had no more memory of it…
This is a beautiful post and your username checks out.
Absolutely spot on haha. And also one guy and his jar…
Oh FFS
I wonder if it’s legal to monetize a reaction video in which you react by doing a live remix of the song?
That’s my reaction when going through “Elektron’s next…” speculative threads.
And earn BAT while you do it!

Re: the plague of reaction videos:
It eats me up that sites have made it impossible to find new and original content unless you are specifically searching for it by name. And that people have to stoop to doing reaction videos to create and drive interest to their own channel in the hopes that someone else will decide to look at the original work they post.
Tangential rant on Youtube algorithms:
I don’t want to be recommended videos/music by an algorithm based on what I have seen before. When I browsed music in shops I didn’t buy six albums that were all slight variations on the same theme - I want to discover something new that speaks to me. Impossible now, everything is buried in noise (and not the fun kind of noise you can twiddle with a knob).
OPs linked video
As for the video originally posted - I apologise to the creator and good luck to them, but the cynic in me cannot listen to more than a few seconds of that style of almost whispered quiet commentary knowing it is a calculated decision designed to create a sense of false intimacy with the viewer.
(It also creeps me out, and the mouth noises remind me of drunk people in loud bars standing too close and whispering stale beer breath directly in your ear in an attempt to be heard over the ambient noise).
Ads on YouTube
And yeah, I’m the one sucker that pays for YouTube because: A) fuck unskippable ads, 2) I gain enough knowledge from selfless creators posting on the site that it is worth it to me as a legit learning resource, iii) too many useful sites have disappeared because they worked on the free model
In general topics like these seem to get more responses than topics / videos where knowledge is shared. As long as that’s the case, reaction videos will pollute the net.
Maybe someone should post a reaction video on the new octatravk sound quality topic.
Is that one of the Made in Poland editions?
I think I might just have inadvertently spilled the beans.
Quick, record a reaction video.
