Is ROLI almost dead?

Nothing on this earth would convince me to buy roli stuff again… Great ideas, but poor execution and terrible customer services let them down badly… once bitten and all that…

I am so bummed that ROLI wasn’t more successful. The Seaboard is just so cool. Also, Equator 2 is, imho, by far the best implementation of an MPE software synth, at least in terms of UI and seeing what your doing with all the expressiveness available. I really, really wanted be able to pair a Seaboard RISE 2 with Equator 2, but like @Symian said, after buying the Seaboard Block, having it fail, then no customer support during warranty period, I won’t be buying anymore hardware from ROLI unless they were purchased by a reputable music hardware company.

This was an interesting read.

For me to buy a Seaboard it would have to have a DIN midi out. That’s the one thing I’m asking for and also probably the one thing I won’t be getting. And for that reason I’m considering a Linnstrument instead.

my linnstrument 128 seems to stand the test of time at least.

being non-battery powered, and having a open firmware makes it a lot more future proof in my eyes that Roli (or for that sake the discontinued sensel morph).

Only issue i have had was the rubber playing suface had air bubbles under it. But i found posts with instructions to loosen the chassis and smoothen things out.
Thing feels like it will last for ages,

Thanks. I’m out here then…

The report of my death was an exaggeration.
