Given that the new KingKORG appears to be built on the same platform, and it lacks aftertouch, it is unfortunately highly unlikely that the new Opsix has an upgraded keybed.
At least it’s not $1000 like the KingKORG.

Official product page for mkII is up now. Looks like the only difference is double the voices and a bit of green paint on the knobs and faders in the operator section, as far as I can tell.
Rackmountable desktop version on the way as well.
It’s weird that the rack mount version isn’t the MK2. I guess they’ll release that in 2 years.
Rackmount version has 64 voices according to specs.
Actually sweetwater lists it as mk2 module
Ah! I should have dug a bit deeper.
This would suggest it’s the mk2 spec for the rack version, albeit with higher polyphony, surprisingly.
Oh my smokes the timing!
I just finished modifying my original yesterday evening! The case was held up in a Californian post office for the longest time.
Any way I’m proud of it!
Looks like the new module version is more narrow than the custom Tall Dog one.
That looks very very good. Well done. Felling proud? Oh yes you should.
Your chopsix looks better !
Thanks! I am proud. It felt like a long wait.
Now to chop the decksaver…
Any suggestions? I was thinking to go at it with a saw then melt the rough edge smooth.
maybe graded sandpapers might work well for a good finish. the ones where you start with heavy grain & finish with ultra light grain. they work well for removing scrape marks in plastic motorcycle helmet visors etc. just a thought, I’ve never tried.
I guess the cover is made out of acrylic so heat gun should do work nicely for smoothing out the edges.
Finally a desktop version !
On the Opsix (correct me if I’m wrong) you can set unisson parameters so having 64 voices is useful if you want to have 16 voices polyphony with each voice set as a 4 voice unisson for example.
On Digitone, I set tracks to unisson with multiple voices very often and it consumes the polyphony very quickly !
OMG it’s a Sticker
cost-effective custom nameplate
depending on pricing i’ll probably nab that new module version tho. i’ve been playing with the opsix native as a demo and it’s a really deep engine obviously, and i’ve no interest in the keys so module + mkII under the hood (and no sticker on the face from what the Korg site shows ) sounds like a winner.
edit: the desktop riser thing w/ an option for rackears too, all really useful.
The Tall Dog case mod adds some nice weight and a solid feel; I’m skeptical that is true of the mk2 module. That said, it’s great that Korg did listen to customers. So many people wanted the module version, esp since the keys are so bad.
Happy with my TD mk1 six, but am intrigued by the midi 2.0 spec of the mk2. I am unfamiliar with the tech but could it be added in a firmware update?
