That’s me Thanks for sharing! Was really frustrated with this pedal for a while but I decided to give it a proper go and had meditative mesmerising time, so it’s a keeper for me.
It definitely has its own sound that might overwhelm any source but if you use it for what it is, and especially if you give the looper a try I think it’s just a really nice pedal to get lost into.
What opened up a new world for me with the Microcosm was mapping everything into the Electra One MkII controller. Having all the little sub menus and commands available right in front of me to manipulate has really changed the game . And not just for the Microcosm, virtually anything that has MIDI CC in my studio now gets made into an Electra One preset, especially guitar pedals (Strymon Nightsky is incredible with it too).
I have it on a parallel FX chain so that I can easily tame the bleeps.
And GenLoss2 behind adds its tape thing, plus act as an EQ. I can’t seem to get tired of this.
Microcosm is synchronized, btw.
Someone was asking if their was a VST that was like Hologram, and I think I found one. Give a look at Beam by Lunacy Labs. It’s got the Granular, filter, reverb/delay thing going on and allows you to automate it all. Sounds really good.
Does anyone experience a massive drop in sound volume with the hologram when used directly with a DT2 and ST?
have you tried “shift +mixer to 100%”? it brings up the output. Also if running on earlier firmware I had a much better response with the latest.
I’ll give that a try tonight. Thanks!
Could this problem be solved without additional costs?
Just got a used microcosm and have set it to stereo and line level to be used, primarily, with a DN II.
My issue is that the left channel is consistently metering louder than the right. Any ideas?
The output cables going into my Apollo are identical, and I’m using a stereo to dual mono 1/4” cable going from the DN II to the Microcosm.
EDIT: rebooting the microcosm fixed the issue. Was this resolved in a later firmware? Weird bug, like the left channel was consistently 6db louder than the right.
Check the setup menu or manual if there’s such a control for uneven spread or if stereo is activated correctly. Can’t remember MC settings, but once bought Empress Reverb used and one channel was set to be more quiet.
