I have some good buddies-in-goth who are also fairly divergent spectrumy, they both go to a lot of festivals and are at least pretty experienced in listening, it’s awesome to hear others’ experiential with sound and music.
One of the pair is a former DJ who I jam with occasionally, the other partner mentioned that they can’t stand the sound of this particular rhythm in music, and while I was not familiar with the band/track and they couldn’t identify the instrument, II guessed that it’s an analog facsimile of a drawn-out clap, with that rough mix of paper-ripping voice doubling and hollow, mucous-expelling nasality of it all.
I tried to make the noise to see if it was what they were thinking and got an OH NO in response. I now want to ask them about every drum machine that they absolutely can not abide but I’m not going to troll my friend when we’re having a nice time out 
I also tend to prefer tighter, but I can think of some grooves that would work with the overwhelming khaaaaaaaaaaark of a deconstructed clap.

One day, when I’ve got a huge stockpile of goodwill built up, I’m going to pay a mariachi band to follow me and my spouse around and play Yes’- Roundabout, because it followed them around for a year (and I have a psychic ability to know when the record is present at a house party, the host is always delighted as a muffled scream rises from the din.)

What’s going on with Win 11 and programs open in the task bar? Sometime you click the thumbnail and they open other times it just fucks with you and goes away! Seems to be apps with multiple windows.

My windows woes continue as I get the forced updates on an unpredictably frequent basis and they keep threatening me with an end to support for windows 10 in october but that my computer can’t be updated to windows 11.
I mean sure microsoft, I’ll just go spend a shitload of money on a computer since you don’t want to back up your fucking software anymore, sounds great. In fact, why didn’t I think of this in the first place? I should buy a new computer every year, that will show them!

Some of my clients are fucked! I’ve been able to keep super old PCs going with SSDs and win 10 to help through the COVID shit show. Now they have to upgrade and it’s gonna hurt the wallet!

10 did okay for a while, but lost the plot over the many service releases, 11 started off a mangled nightmare and the UI skew / uselessness seems to have only gotten worse.
I want to rebuild my media/plex/mild gaming server without flattening or upgrading OS, I’m hoping I can server-of-theseus it and not have issues with activation.
I wouldn’t bother changing anything until they stop supporting Windows Defender + updates really.
Good news is-
Defender antivirus updates for W10 will last until 2028.
