Yes! A new semi modular moog, can’t wait to see what it is.
I’ve been asking for this for years. Between this and the rumored Sequential TEO, it feels like a bunch of synth manufacturers looked at my wishlist and said, “Let’s make that stuff.”
Definitely looks like the Spectravox. Sorry, wallet.
Very glad to see Moog is sticking with their semi-modulars. Hopefully this means they’ll have a refresh on their racks and cases. I’ve been wanting to expand my 3-tier setup for ages, but most of their modular kit (racks, knobs, etc.) have been out of stock.
it’s great to see they’re doing more in the Mother format. bummed that we apparently aren’t going to see the Mirror or Muse or whatever poly synth at this Superbooth though. maybe they’ll make some sort of statement about it…?
Hiding in plain site?!
Solid Tune! Jamie Lidell is a creative force of nature.
Nice. Must have unlisted it as it doesn’t come up on search. Love Jamie (saw him play many years ago and played the Multiply album a lot).
Was expecting a bit more vocal effectiness here but was fun.
Looking forward to more demos. Would love to see someone like Julianna Barwick play with one.
Replacing sliders with knobs is a bummer, but it looks like that made space for individual inputs/outputs on the filter banks, which is very nice. I wonder if that means you could use the filter banks as attenuators, or do some Clusterflux-style filter sequencing… lots of possibilities with this thing.
I look forward to running DFAM through this thing.
this looks like it will be so much fun with the existing semi mods, intrigued by the addition of buzz or hiss on the 2 uppermost bands…
It seems to have worked out well for inMusic, and so far with the exception of layoffs, and a few other adverse things for Moog and it’s employees, it is probably a net positive for Moog and Asheville. It’s been less than a year so I’d give it more time.
MORE : So one thing apparent now. It’s very unlikely that Moog engineering would have simultaneously green-lighted the Muse, the Spectavox, and now the Labyrinth to come out at more or less the same time, without inMusic standing behind them.
One of the number one things inMusic picked up in the acquisition was a creative group of engineers, and the other creative people that makes synth projects go.
And someone had a meeting early on and said, “Go Get 'em !”
Good news.
EDIT: looks like there is a topic on this already
I’ve not heard any word of this, but if inMusic was to get Moog to restart Moogfest, that is the traditional place to introduce things like Labyrinth. The original Spectravox started at a Moogfest after all.
ADDED : 2024 would be 20 years from the first Moogfest.
There was no celebration, even no acknowledgment of Bob’s anniversary. It’s disappointing.
