You know that Moog sell a powered case exactly the right size, right? (I’m assuming, but let’s say this is for the benefit of folks who don’t)
Are you saying that Moog has a case that holds 5 of their semi-modulars and powers them from a single power source? i.e. Moog is now selling a 300+ hp eurorack case?!
Or are you just referring to the default 60hp cases they come with?
The thing is, once you have more than 2 of the Moog semi-modulars, it’s nicer to put them in a single case and w/a single power source. The Moog 3-tier stand isn’t as sturdy as I like and then you have lots of rear power cabling to deal with.
No, they have a 104hp case designed to fit one of the semi-modulars next to the Mavis.
With the Labyrinth on the way and the Mirror still possibly out there as the next one, I’m hoping for another Sound Studio bundle, or for Moog to go all in and make some 120HP 9U cabinets. A man can dream…
But at the very least, they need to refresh their rack stands and make those mixer/chargers available separately. I refuse to touch the Spectravox filter banks until I can give it the knob kit treatment (and I’m only half joking).
I’m off buying new hardware since I got the Push 3, but the Spectravox is seriously tempting. It seems like it would be just perfect with my 0-Coast and 0-CTRL.
Or with the Push and its 4 CV outs
Enjoy Electronics has a nice 5 tier stand.
in stock at thomann. please someone buy them so i don’t have to!
Is there any software/Max for Live equivalent of this?
i guess you could emulate something similar in ableton with vocoder + eq8 + some macros and modulations?
I’m so close to buying one of these, even though I can probably do it all with software. It looks so versatile
Yeah these new demos are making it hard to resist
Really nice to see stuff that’s showcasing it as a synth not just a vocoder. That “emulating a vintage drum machine” demo has me gassing lol
Not willing to push any GAS…
But I do think that software will hardly bring you the same experience. Those kind of tools are all about tweaking and looking for sweet spots.
I’m usually not a fan of Moog. I like the quality they bring, but I often think that they are very expensive. But this one looks very powerful and unique, fairly priced and that it is a great sound design thing.
I think that one needs some cv sequencing/mangling toolkit to get the fun out of it though.
No GAS, but I like that they are adding to the existing line. Maybe I will come back.
I would use it with an 0-Coast and 0-CTRL, plus the Push 3 which has 4 CV outs.
You’re not helping
Sounds good here! Should make some people happy!
(It sounded like crap to me in the guitar video one though. I think a Veromona Retroverb would be much better as a non-traditional guitar multi effects unit).
For folks that have received theirs: how are you finding the build quality? Especially how does it compare to the previous made in USA models?
Yeah I have to agree, for example the Behringer VC340 vocoder sounds a heck of a lot better to my ears
After seeing this device on Bad Gear I had one thought: it seems perfect for feedback looping.
But not a single video of this on the Internet. Maybe the noise scene can’t afford Moogs
