MPC Thread : MPC Live - MPC X - MPC One (Part 3)

been doing that lots. especially to drums or plugs. you can have several midi tracks playing the same kit, playing diff parts of the kit, and you an un/mute parts of a kit. its sweet.

BRING BACK ABILITY TO PLACE TRACK MUTES ON PAD OF CHOICE!

Someone on the stones throw board years ago (2007/2008) was posting about how him and his buddy were testing the MPC 3500/5000. No one believed him at the time, but he was testing it out 8 months before the release of the 5000. The only spec that was different from the final version was it was 192MB of sampling ram instead of 128MB. So something makes me think they were using the 2500 parts for testing.

If we are doing beta testing for this new OS you better believe that there’s some prototype MPC X2 and Live III in someone’s studio. Working in software development for 12 years I’ve learned that regression testing is the most difficult part so Akai is leveraging all of us for that right now.

I think the plan is to announce the product after AES but before winter NAMM 2025. Off topic but Universal Audio will probably announce the next gen of Apollos at AES because they have steep price cuts for the line at the moment.

I remember that

Playing with FW3.0 last night, I have a problem with Flavor PRO: everytime I put the plug on any track, the Live 2 crashes and restarts

On mine the coating is starting to come off… not sticky… just down to the metal…

Probably will remove it eventually and spray paint it

As long as not sticky, iz good :+1:

Works fine here!

It smells like that, a better CPU and more memory and this time with a bigger screen, 11" maybe

I think with MPC3 there will be a lot of people looking out for the new MPCs…faster CPU/More memory maybe with all the new plugins…better/more responsible touch screens, who knows…a smaller battery version seems possible based around the One+…not sure how they can improve the Live II much- maybe a bend/mod strip, screen that can be angled?

I’d suggest a vinyl cover versus spray painting it.

I don’t know, but the ES9 works with everything else flawlessly, from desktop to phone to tablets to other stand-alones.

  • in the mix section [volume]: why is there no mute/solo buttons, every other segment has them  or just nuke the volume page as there is the volume/pan page

  • in the mix section pads [sends, effects, I/O]: they should put mini levels at the at the top of active pads and some kind of indicator of which pad you have active. the little color blob at the top isn’t the best. the tracks have more of an indication with the REC button lighting up. having a micro level at the top would help identify which are active, and what they are [for those that dont name each pad]

  • main page [track field]: rather than having to scroll the EACH individual track, including subs, returns and outs…it would be nice to hold shift and scroll to the diff groups. so if you want to get to outs directly, you could get there faster.

  • where’d the LFOs go

ya I wouldn’t know. I ADAT it [ES-8] into my MOTU :grimacing:
otherwise I guess its just USB…so I have no idea what im saying

Don’t know if I understand that question but as usual in the ā€˜track edit’

if I recall there was a page of LFOs that could be assigned to diff params, not just the single LFO in the Track Edit page.

In the Force ? I never found something like that but would be amazing

What are people’s thoughts on Akai dropping Clips in MPC 3.0?

Could this be Akai getting out of the Clip game? Bad news for prospect of a Force 2?

Not something I’ve ever come across, it’s one of the main things I miss from the elektron school, that and the conditionals.

I think it’s early days and people are just whipping themselves into a frenzy left right and centre, ngl got carried away a bit by it all myself, if you look on the main product pages there some shots that clearly show clips is still a thing even if it isn’t in this build, I mean why blatantly display and image if it’s something that’s gone for good?
