How is the headphone port on the push standalone ? Is it loud enough ?
I am on their mailing list … maybe I missed it or deleted it 
Are you switching to controller mode during composition or just opening standalone the set on Desktop and making edits?

Controller mode currently while experimenting with audio effect racks, macro mappings and what not. I’m close to having the live performance template done. Been working on that for the last months by just experimenting a lot with sound design and stock plugins + max4live. Then minimising as much as possible to make sense for a live performance.

Ha! For some reason I woke up and decided today is the day to buy a Push 3.
It wasn’t until I checked for the order confirmation from Ableton that I saw the discount email!
Had to cancel the original order and re-do with the coupon code 
But with that coupon now in place, today really IS the day!

If they fancy doing 20% off the controller version that would be nice 
how do you work around not being able to vary the tempo like you could on the mp?
I’m not sure what you mean - I can just crank the tempo knob if I want to change it 
Edit: if you mean setting different tempos per pattern, I literally never used that feature.

Maybe not 20% (I imagine SA is highly dependent on NUC pricing which I have a feeling may have just softened a bit), but I wonder if this is a sign that we might see a promotion come Black Friday.
I’d been planning on getting the controller version this fall, so this has me wondering if I should try keeping the GAS under control for another six weeks.
if the controller version was the one piling up in the warehouse they’d put that one on sale
