I have the Syntakt since 358 days (which I know that exact since this video was made on the same day it arrived - my humble beginning on the Syntakt) and it has become the center piece of my setup so I’d say it is definitely more than serious
By centrepiece you mean it’s your main sequencing brain? I might have to take a second look at syntakt!
Centrepiece in the sense of allowing for complete songs the fastest, making all other synths satellites (and that’s how I arranged them on my stand: Syntakt middle-top, everything else left (A4), right (Digitakt) or below)
Since the Midi capabilites of Digitakt and Syntakt are identical (as far as I know), I use the Digitakt for sequencing other synths, but of course it could be as well the Syntakt (12 tracks are a lot!)
I like your overall setup and philosophy here. The Digitakt makes the most sense to me as the MIDI sequencer for external gear because of its dedicated MIDI channels. I would be loathe to steal any voices from the Syntakt for that purpose.
One thing (of many) I’m enjoying about both of your packs is going back to some of my older material and retro-fitting sounds with selections from yours. Gives things an entirely different (often “better”) vibe compared to some of my more reserved sound design, and also as a second version of my older pattens, makes for great drops that bring the pain.
Hi! The Spells sound massive.
I hope the examples in the corresponding news weren’t heavily post-processed (well if AH was used for it, then it is totally fine)
I don’t have a Syntakt, but there are A4, AR and DN in my setup.
What do you think, how easy will it be to replicate, let’s say, Music Spells track with my devices or is it something only Syntakt is capable of? Thanks
P.S. What I am especially interested in – it’s that DnB (State of Mind, Maldini, Black Sun Empire etc) bass. The rest sounds like it was overloaded and reverbed a lot? AH can do that. But the bass? Never heard that fat supersaw (?) sound on one of Elektron devices
A4 and AR can go crazy.
Here’s for A4.
On AR, don’t hesitate to use samples!
A tiny waveform is sometimes all you need to create a fat oscillator.
Digitone can go extremely hard as well, there are many examples on this forum.
I love the Syntakt and @Jeanne definitely shows how you can push it, but you already have all the tools in your hands!
Omg, thanks for the youtube channel, instantly subscribed!
Hi, I am the creator of the packs and the demos. There is no post processing whatsoever, it’s all just the stereo-out. Same goes for everything on my channel
(The way to fat saws on the A4 is using PWM - and both OSCs slightly detuned to each other to taste )

Also, a Digitone soundpack is around the corner
These packs are really money well spent. Thank you very much
Nice surprise on my youtube subs feed: Gabe Miller checking out the Spells!
On that note, my Digitone Soundpack https://dissonantwitchcraft.com/ is still available at its introductiorary prize
Dear @Jeanne , have you consider putting together a Spells for Cycles soundpack?
Hey, J. (or is it Rey? ), thanks for the comment! Since I don’t own one anymore, it is not likely at the moment, and currently I work on soundpacks for Hydrasynth (Edit: Which has now be released https://dissonantwitchcraft.com/ ) and Analog Four
However, I am a little curious how I’d get on with the Cycles today …
Just picked these sound packs up. Great sounds, very inspiring.
I know I’m late to the party, but I only got my Syntakt yesterday and these soundpacks were an instant buy for me as well.
However, after installing the packs I noticed multiple sounds aren’t loading (from Drum Spells), e.g. CAT SN 21 (I can’t remember the exact name as I’m not at my computer right now). There are many more and I reinstalled the pack multiple times, even downloaded the pack from the site again, but no success.
Did anyone notice?
Welcome, dear.
Contact Elektron support about this.
And please report here for other users to be in the loop
Hey, I hope you get it sorted out. I use these sounds myself all the time to this day! There’s also an new pack for the Syntakt called “Syntakt Curses”, which is like a third entry to the Spells:
Same for me, have sent a ticket to support and I’ll update here when I hear back.
Ooops, my mistake. All the presets are there in the Sound Manager, I was seeing a truncated list due to the track type I was parked on while looking at the Sound Browser doh. I’ve not had the Syntakt long and forget its differences when using it alongside my DN and DT.
The sound pack is absolutely amazing btw, thank you @Jeanne
With Syntakt some of the sounds are for the analog tracks, and some of them are for the digital tracks. Depending on what track is active, 1-8 (Digital), or 9-11 (Analog) + 12 (Analog Cymbal). I recommend using the sound browser (FUNC + Level/Data knob) to see which are available for each type. The sound browser will automatically truncate available sounds as @Skip65 mentions above.
Yup, that’s exactly what it was. Beginners mistake I guess. Thanks!!!
