How to synthesize this baby lion roar?

[Ratatat - Wildcat] 16 seconds in, you hear what I suppose is a sampled baby lion roar. I put myself to the test to try to synthesize something like that with my A4 mkii. But I can’t get anywhere near that sound. How would you go about it?
