Teenage Engineering OP-XY

I had B&H price match Detroit Modular for 10% off. Delivery tomorrow.

Nope. Just got an op-1 Field a couple of days ago. My plan with it is to start with drums on one track (I think I have to make a pattern, record it, then copy/paste it throughout the track to keep it in time, which seems so freaking tedious) and then do synths, bass, guitar and vocals on separate tracks and just bounce them down to that first track as necessary to keep tracks free for other pieces as I go.

The op-xy seems to make the rhythm part of that so much less tedious. But then you can’t really do guitar parts on it from my understanding.

Detroit modular shows the same price. How did you get them to do that?

I honestly thought you were being serious, my apologies.

That’s why I have the op1F

Use a promo code. I used dm10.

Right, you just need to write ‘price with code xxx’ in the comment field of the B&H price match form.

awesome, thanks for the advice. worked as well for me, get it tomorrow. i still have one in route from TE that comes end of week, going to send that back to them.

Does anyone know of discount codes for stores in Europe (the Netherlands). I normally buy stuff at Thomann, but they don’t do discounts like 10% off, as far as I’m aware.

you can try volt, its 100 euro’s cheaper there compared to thomann

Thanks for these deals. Do you know if they would ship to other EU countries (eg France)? Also I struggle to find an option to switch language in English…

I don’t know actually. But I have mine coming rom them tmrw. Very fast shipping.

You should write them.

ah thanks, that’s a good tip. I also just realized, Bax Shop may run a discount code for black friday/cyber monday

Imagine half the beta testers of the XY had an Octatrack 2 on their desk at the same time with a slightly later release date … makes you think

I heard in US milk cost 10$. I mean if you make some calculations…skip milk for a whole year and you get healthier and can afford XY  its all about the mindset and PoV.

I officially preordered one today. A huge factor for me was TE’s implementation of PARAMETER SLIDES.

really hoping Elektron can catch up, it’s been the biggest omission in this generation of Elektron boxes imo

I couldn’t agree more.

I am living in Germany, with average salary, no kids, mid-low rent, average car and I don’t really find 2.3k that much for a such a long term device from highly skilled company in terms of design. TE gears it’s far from perfect or all-in-features but everybody agrees on one thing: hell of a fun to make music with them. That’s a very important non tangible value than few mention but key. TE is hugely User Experience centered company while others are device capability centered…

For me TE is user experience and beautiful design, i mean Field Serie and EP-133 is one of the best designed products ever, so much that Pinterest is full of product concept looking like TE. They made a trend, a style.

And Elektron blow up thanks to the impecable implementation of their workflow which is an extreme example of functional UI and UX on a Square panel. That’s why i trust to pay 4k on Elektron and TE gear without caring that much about the price.

I’m new to this. Could you explain what parameter slides are? Is that the same as the step components?
