So anyone know much about iLouds?
Seriously though they are pretty expensive here in Aus, think about 600 AUD.

What makes the MTM better in your opinion? Since everyone else here seems to favor the Micro version. Thanks in advance

I actually have the 3.5, and they were fantastic!

$89 at Best Buy.

I went all in and got Kali Audio once I decided to get serious.

MTM are miles better, they offer DSP room correction and each comes with it’s own DSP mic. But they are much more expensive and bulkier. The micros for their price/size/sound ratio are incredible.

yeah, DSP correction (which makes them really good solution for untreated / poorly treated rooms), and significantly more solid low end.

…the only studio monitoring where u can go cheap but not too wrong…

and whatever u pick, avoid 8" membranes and plastic chassis…

and if he gets real with all this, one or two years from now, u can invest once for real in the best little hi end and final solution for all near field monitoring puposes…

Yep +1 for the Presonus Eris 3.5 - great for the price.

You’ve no doubt considered it also or maybe it’s covered already but a decent pair of open backed headphones would also be good to by pass any unpleasant room acoustics and get a better idea of the low end in the mix vs small actives in an untreated room.

I love my Beyer Dynamic DT990 cans… Smooth sound and comfy! Remember to check the impedance when choosing headphones - higher impedance usually means better quality but you need a more powerful headphone amp to drive a higher impedance set.
