Yeah i am. They ask for features you are missing in their gear.
Plus as above, you can contact them directly.
DIGI:GRAIN
UP FOR THAT 100%!
Actually I would love to see new Elektron sampler / audio file station, which allows to work with audio files freely, without limitations of Octatrack - do poly granular like GR-1 or Granulator M4L plugin, do microscopic sounds with quality timestretch / warp algorithms (at least like 7 Ableton’s warping modes, maybe something like Paul Stretch to do extreme things… ). All in small DIGI format would be awesome and instant buy for me.
But also:
DIGI:TABLE (wavetable synth with nasty sound, a la Serum plugin or Hydrasynth on steroids )
Model : sequence. 6 channel elektron sequencer with 15 parameters per channel for live or param-locked control, 2 cv channels with 4 outs each. cheaper than the other models. (Why? Other models don’t output parameter locked midi). Competes with korg and other more overpriced hardware sequencers.
I’d say a mixer in digi or model size with 2 ins, fader, fx, looper & midi sequencer could be.
Or another wild guess: the model line in black, because you know… that is something modern right now.
I’d love it to be an external FX unit, overbridge friendly, with a sequencer, in digi format.
More likely that Elektron will release another model series, maybe Analog.
2 INS for a Mixer is a little short, isn’t it?
An Analog Six at Model prices! I highly doubt it
Me too! I’ve been considering a Digitone or even an A4 primarily as an FX processor with OB Come on, Elektron, give us that 8-in, OB-enabled performance mixer we’d all love
cmon, 2 pairs…
You meant the OT.
no.
I don’t want to be rude but this thread in looping indefinitely.
This is the Song Mode That Never Ends…
Yeah people just need an outlet for their gear lust, I suppose. It doesn’t help that everything Elektron has released over the last few years has either been stripped down versions of current tech (the Model series), gussied up versions of old tech (paint everything black!), or a Digitone with a keyboard glued on the end of it.
Not that I’m complaining. The new paint jobs look amazing, and there’s nothing you can’t do with the current line up. It’d just be nice if there was an OT with Overbridge or a proper drum synth. We’re a needy bunch.
Elektron have made a bunch of very unique and eclectic machines over the years, but they need a platform. A commonality between devices where software features can be turned on/off as the device/market demands. Look at Akai, they have 4 or 5 different samplers all running the same software with enough of a hardware differentiator to please all, and sell some too.
Elektron needs to up their game, start making devices with far more powerful hardware specs, better, clearer screens and get away from a bazillion calculator style buttons on each device, and pixelized Nintendo gameboy screens. They need a software ecosystem otherwise they will soon follow Propellerheads down the drain, who’s refusal to change and permit VSTis was their downfall. We all remember Nokia (a bazillion clicky buttons too) wiped out by Apple (just one clicky button)?
Why and ecosystem or platform, speed and agility of software development, that’s why. With better software and features you can crush the competition.
The Scandi tech startups don’t evolve fast enough to have any longevity, it’s and evolve or die scenario…
Controversial? I own nearly all their devices, so this just my personal opinion, but history has a tend to repeat itself!
It’s a saturated market now with
ELZ
Korg
Novation
Roland
None of them would compare to an OB performance mixer. I’ve never even considered any of those brands. Except, I once looked at the MX-1 – but I can’t stand the Aria green
Behrinrger X32, digital mixer, loads of routable on-board FX, USB tracking per channel, EQ, Compression and Gate per mixer. 32 channel USB audio interface. USB HDD recording.
Don’t get hung up on Elektron making a mixer when there are loads of decent, powerful and feature rich digital mixers already out there.
Any Elektron mixer would be a dodo product IMHO
Hard disagree, the minimal screens and button-rich interfaces of Elektrons is a big part of their appeal. Feels fast, fluid and focused to me, as opposed to touchscreen devices. Love my clicky-clacky gameboys!
But the market saturation argument could be used against Elektron bringing any of their previous boxes to market. There were many different drum machines, synthesisers, and grooveboxes available at the time of pretty much all of their older releases. But Elektron can make these things special, especially with their sequencer, p-locks, and now OB. Anyway, I’m not hung up on it. I would just love to see Elektron’s take on a performance mixer
Eww
