I dunno really. If they’re killing it I feel I am, or should be, more emotionally connected to that little black box. Silly? probably.
The silver ones sound better!!! Obviously.
Understood and understood.
Back to my dilemma!
But if the digitakt is discontinued wouldn’t the e25 be way more rare? Or are you just saying for the sake of wanting to have the original model?
Edit nvm spoke too soon. I saw your reply
I attended the Digitakt funeral today. Mono showed up. Sid was there. Rytm showed up, which was a stand-up move considering the “incident” a few years ago. The Model Twins made a brief appearance. Machinedrum couldn’t make it; he is still in the hospital from drumming too hard. BP-1 was there and still smoking like a chimney. Neither of the Keys could make it; they are away on tour. Good friends Digitone and Syntakt had some pleasant things to say about our dearly departed. It was a nice funeral. Rest easy, Digitakt.
Don’t forget about the hidden sleeve behind the panel on the bottom, which will serve as a toaster after the next firmware update.
Aint no toast like an analog toast.
I think that’s the fastest I’ve seen a post withdrawn
(Digitakt withdrawn by Elektron, will be automatically deleted in 24 hours unless rumours were false)
I feel the same… also; overbridge
+1 for speculating a digitakt + with new effects, the same screen as the syntakt, stereo, and same the pricerange as the syntakt
The reason there’s no new trademark is probably because they are going to use an existing name.
-1 for speculating a Digitakt- without effects but with a red screen and smaller Elektron logo for 100 moneys more.
Same hardware. New screen and logo. This would be a new SKU in retail terms. Or it’s nothing.
I’m getting FOMO from all this speculation alone and I’m not even in the market for new gear right now.
This was my assumption too
my biggest issue is that second hand prices will now go up unfortunately.
I was finally able to pull the trigger in the coming months, but now I think hardlly there will be one for 500 EUR again.
Elektron will be at the London Synth Expo this weekend. Will be interesting to hear what they say. It’s a lot harder to ignore questions when the person asking is standing in front of you.
Very plausible explanation for all the various Thomann messages I’ve seen.
This would also be more in line with what they did with previous MK2 generation. Functionality stays almost exactly the same, but some cosmetic differences, some larger some minor, will apply.
For example I think even for the octatrack, they can actually keep everything as is, if they just update the converters and call it MK3 it’s still the only octatrack in existence and insanely good.
Is it too much to hope they might also do away with the TPE coating on the buttons? That stuff is the Devil’s work!
What if they also make it a bit slimmer and put a battery in
