Well thatā€™s better than I had hoped as Yamaha has been the last holdout on the plugin front of the big 3.

From my brief listen, those AN-X sounds come across as digital.

Maybe itā€™s the patch selection but it also might be the analog/vintage parameters seemed like they were pretty low.

Blake A. talks more about the AN-X engine in this video. I wanted to hear him say something about CS-80 inspiring this engine but I didnā€™t catch it. More intellectual curiosity than anything - Iā€™m kinda analogā€™d out myself.

No plans to buy but Iā€™m curious about how much pressure is required to activate the poly AT - would drive to the store just to try that. Ok, maybe not just for thatā€¦

Doesnā€™t look like theyā€™ll be adding an-x to the original then so i guess Iā€™m gonna have to upgrade. But not until Iā€™ve exhausted the possibilities of the original though.

Dom Sigalas also did a walkthrough of his AN-X presets - not just playing but also explaining what controllers he chose to patch in and why, how was poly AT utilized, etc.

If you are interested go back and watch his full review. You donā€™t need to consider buying this synth, just seeing and understanding the range of features is rewarding.

Also fun is Loopopā€™s demonstration of the Smart Morph eature with FM, especially where he createsapath through the morph. You can use this with the MODX as well.
