My first synth was a Korg MS20 in the early 1980s. Followed by a MonoPoly which I am fortunate to still have! I have listened to an eclectic range of genres of Music for as long as I could reach for the tone arm of my parent’s turntable and also loved playing and making electronic music, experimental music, sound design and field recording. For a while a career in nursing, then becoming a father and husband took precedence over these adventure, col, although I did indulge myself in my other passion of photography, with plastic “toy” cameras and polaroids for a while.
Now I am retired and the children are young adults I have more free time! I fell down the eurorack modular rabbit-hole recently and finally was introduced to the world of Elektron with the very recent purchase of a Digitone. I previously owned a Casio CZ-101 so knew I loved FM synthesis but boy does the Digitone sound amazing! Many of my friends in the Australian Wiggler community have (a lot of) Elektron gear and at a recent gig I was fascinated with what one of my modular mentors was doing with his Octatrack. I made the mistake of watching a few (correction, a LOT) of YouTube videos and the OctaGAS got bad. I was offered one at a price too good to refuse less than a week ago…and here I am, an old newbie on Elektronauts. If you’ve managed to read to the end of this bio, I would like to thank you! I really am a bit of a windbag.
