Yeah it’s got a camera with pixel color detection in the back, I forgot to tell !
It does midi sync over usb-A. Clock + 1 channel
Looks like the Move and Push 3 teams are separate.
Thanks, @pmags, for the info!
Predator technology!
Forgive me, not sure if it’s been mentioned, but…
I do find it a bit puzzling and surprising that they seem to have gone with a horizontal track selection method rather than stick with the vertical method we are so used to in Live itself, and Push (not to mention LaunchControl XL, APC 40, etc.).
I can’t help but find that really weird. One more row of track selection buttons under the knobs wouldn’t have made it that much larger of a device, right?
It’s disturbing at first, but you quickly get completely used to it in my experience.
No, but the anemic CPU wouldn’t handle 8 tracks and the device would have to cost $10 more
The wavetable synth is incredible. I’m pretty surprised they added that one. It’s a synth that only comes with suite and is super powerful.
I personally doubt I’ll do much midi out with mine besides play some synths and trigger recordings. It has 64 gigs of sample space so I can load drums, synth hits and vocal samples and be good to go for messing with ideas.
The fact that it is mindlessly simple to dump the sessions into Live is really what appeals most. Plus it’s a controller. So great value for me.
Game changer? No. But I’m focused on making music quickly and being able to do 20 -60min sessions on this thing and then saving the idea and making another is super cool. Then just go back and listen in a week and pick anything great, finish in studio.
Personally thats what I want with any portable device. If I have to screw around and go through pain to get it tracked into the daw, it’s not really worth it. IMO. I want zero friction when doing that and this delivers.
Should be fun. I’ll post my impressions when it gets here.
But honestly if Wavetable was packaged as a $400 pocket synth and marketed by a hipster brand, people would be buying it and calling it a bargain. So the fact that this has that and far more is quite cool.
No MIDI CC. So limited as a controller for Ableton Live? Maybe just a clip launcher?
Wow this bit of kit has really triggered the rage in some.
Chill people it’s only another groove box
Anyone has an idea what “dynamics” effect translates to in Live? All the other fx and instruments are there in 12.1, but this one
Bummer to let the toxic culture win, but I get it.
Combined eq and compressor
If this runs on an ARM processor, its a reasonable guess they’ve ported Note to Android right? or would they choose a lightweight linux distro for this?
Obviously all of the UI work would need to be ported as well, before a proper full Android version could be released, but I could see this being their plan.
No
they said in an interview that it’s a custom linux. it’s what everyone does (AKAI, Native Instruments, Korg, Torso etc)
i don’t think anyone’s ever used android for embedded audio hardware tbh
Okay thank you!!
I agree. Seriously underwhelmmed by recent releases in general. Maybe it’s just a bad year.
