I loved my Roland mc 101 as a preset player /sound module but hated its guys for the wonky sequencer. The move is an upgrade in every aspect except the number of patches and the thing you’re mentioning. If they add the ability to sequence it — it’s gonna be golden (not worried about the presets — they will come for sure).
I have almost 1,100 patches for MOVE already :] Most collected from discord, and a few packs bought.
I know it’s doable. But 101 has all the classics like Juno etc. This is a bit different.
Haha yeah I’m not a fan of the sequencer. 256 steps is great though. Using it alongside Move and a few other pieces in my current setup
Quantity does not necessarily mean quality. At least the quality of the MC-101 sounds is outstanding. Apart from the fact that many of them are based on multisamples. And the Move is still a long way from that.
As soon as the Move gets a proper MIDI implementation, we will finally be able to use such fantastic sounding devices as the MC-101 or the Seqtrak as addition. Then the sky will be the limit.
This.
Move has the facilities to become that but it’s not there yet. I would kill for a MC101xElektron synth :).
Someone tryed to send the audio from the move to the Ableton with link sync?
I have to set a 20ms delay on all the other tracks to get sync fine.
If I put a -20 ms on the move doesn’t works
My Move deck saver arrived today, to complete my protection collection. But when I put the cover on the Move, it’s super tight to get on and off.
I did have a deck saver for my Push 2 that was the same and I was really worried about it scratching/rubbing it. The deck saver for my Push 3 is perfect and pops on and off like a breeze.
Has anyone else experienced this?
My looping/sampling/synth guitar rig! H90 came yesterday and my ehx triple foot controller came today and it’s all set in with the rest! Now just need to get me 2 or 3 expression foot controllers for my rig.
What’s all in the rig?
Kiesel Zeus Guitar With Boss GK-5 Pickup
Empress Effects ZOIA
Beetlecrab Audio Tempera Granular Synth / Sampler
Eventide H90
Singular Sound Aeros Loop Studio
Boss SY-300 Guitar Synth
Boss VG-800 Guitar Modeling / Effect unit
Boss GM-800 Guitar Synth
Fractal VP4
Line 6 Helix Floor
Two Ableton Moves For Synths / Sampling
Morningstar MC8 Midi Controller
Two Boss FS-5U Footswitches
EHX Triple Foot Controller
The entire rig is set up where I can sample myself and those pedals and my computer into the beetlecrab tempera and two ableton moves.
Mine is on the loose side, definitely no problems removing it. So either yours is ok or mine is ok :).
Yamaha FC7 is great imo if you’re ok with it having a built-in cable and being on the larger side. It has a nice feel and you can connect multiples together with little brackets on the bottom that it comes with.
Hi,
Is is possible to connect the Move to the iPad via USB-C and run Ableton Note on the iPad with the sound of of the iPad coming out of the Move with the Move’s audio as well ?
I’ve tried but connecting the Move to the iPad just seems to cut the sound on the iPad.
Thanks for any help.
This should work with the most recent Move firmware — hit the Record button on Move, set the source to USB-C, and enable Monitoring.
You should also be able to sample from Move into Note without changing any settings, although I haven’t gone through the steps so I’m not sure if there are any unexpected feedback loops, etc.
By default, Move sends its microphone signal out over USB but you can go into the Setup menu and change the USB-C Audio setting to “Main Out”
Another wish list, really hope there’s a simpler way of converting .adg to move presets.
Thank you.
I think I am trying to use the Move as an audio interface for the iPad rather than sampling from it. More like I would with say my Model:Cycles.
Maybe what I am trying to do is just not possible yet.
I’ve sent the Move Decksaver back to Juno for them to check it. To me, it does look like the back of the cover is angled in too much,
For anyone out there experiencing the ground loop noise issue, I bought this USB splitter so I could power it with the standard adapter rather than the data cable going to my computer, as well as this 1/8" noise isolator and it worked perfectly. Much cheaper than Ableton’s suggested ground loop accessories.
