Fictitious marine biology aside, I do think the TD-3-MO would be a good candidate for some circuit-bending. I would love to see what mods could be done to one of these. I’ve been searching the web, but search keywords for “modded” keep clashing with “modded out” which is in the name, so I don’t know if they simply don’t exist or if my search doesn’t work
New black version
Just bought one for 130€ in a second hand shop.
I’m trying hard to set mods to neutral for the moment !
Sequenced by Syntakt today. Only CC74 is a bit frustrating.
Is all midi sent to CV/GATE out ?
I mean :
Note On, for CV/GATE Out
Velocity for Accent Out
CC74 for Filter
?
I’d use it to control my XOX HEART module…
Is Filter In an audio input ?
There is actually a default sheet in the manual
I think the answer to all the quiestions is yes, at least it should be so
Thanks. I saw it but it sounded weird to me at first. But I wasn’t aware of extra range for CUTOFF and ENVELOPE, disturbing at first, now I getting more intented results.
Also Accent Sweep wasn’t on 3. Disturbing too, much less resonance on position 3.
Default Tune isn’t right for mine.
Possible to fine tune inside ?
Inside TD3 MO.
There is VCF trim, and SLIDE ADJust.

Devilfish manual, for in depth explanation of mods :
I’m trying to sequence a TD-3-MO with my digitakt. But if clock send is enabled when I hit play, the TD start the internal sequencer and won’t receive any midi note. The thing is I can’t disable the clock because I need it for my minifreak sequencer.
My midi setup:
Octatrack - out / in > Digitakt - out / in > Minifreak - through / in> TD-03-Mo
For now I just disable the sequencer manually, but I’m preparing an hour long live with multiple play/stop and I’m to afraid of forgetting to do it with the stress ^^
Set synch to internal on the TD.
God… I hate this forum.
Just ordered one in Black… backordered from Sweetwater till Mid April.
want now.
The black one looks sick.
I swapped my silver TD3 MO to a regular black TD3, without regret because of mods that doesn’t suits me (I’d prefer to mod a regular TD3 myself, I don’t like several MO behaviors, I only liked FM mod).
But…aesthetically, the TD3 BK isn’t that black…
So is the Blackbox btw…
I wonder if TD3 MO is really black, I also really like its look.
I recently bought an OTO Boum, thought it was black: no, dark green ! I guess my web is dark web.
Ill post pics when in comes in… its backordered till mid april…
I went with the MO, because Im not married to the sound so much as the behavior.
I wasn’t going to get it since I have the T-8, and it has a 303 clone… but the worflow is just as convoluted… so why not walk the same path as the greats, and see what it do…
My sweetwater rep tried to steer me towards the roland branded 303, and its only $50 more…
But ite the cv in/outs that sold me on the Berhringer synth.
I am not sure of what you mean by that…
Personally, with TD3 MO, I expected 303ish sound AND possibility to have similar tweaking, sweet spots range.
Filter extra range, extra decay didn’t suit me. Back to original clone…no regrets.
There’s probably a bigger profit margin on the Roland and bigger bonus for the pusher
I didn’t love the MO sound either. I tried and found that I needed to try too hard, so I returned mine. I guess it’s not for everyone!
Maybe. But, I was asking him about the regular td 3 and he steered me original.
And I love Roland and he knows it.
But looking at this thread made me push the trig to grab this without talking to him.
I can only wait on hold for a rep before I just want it done.
this is a little side bar: but acidlab is producing the bassline3 again. Maybe a bit more of a pure 303 sound than the MO but with a way more fun sequencer
Do you have experience with the acidlb bassline3 or could you recommend a good review or demo video? How does ot compare soundwise to original TB-303, TT-303…
Out of curiosity, is there a reason you call them rather than order online?
