So you prefer merc 7 not source audio collider for ambient type reverb?
What delay do you use with merc 7?
Mercury 7 Reverb by Meris : is lovely
Ventris Reverb by Source Audio : is very cool as well for frozen reverb
I did prefer the Collider in many situations but I did a trade for a vintage Fender Jaguar which I wanted badly and the friend I made the trade with was interested in my Collider. So I sacrificed it even though I often preferred it for it’s versatility. ATM I don’t have a dedicated hardware delay some multi-FX boxes that i can utilize. I have the Meris Hedra though which is amazing and can fulfill my delay needs if necessary. I guess I’m saving up for the Polymoon now. I’d also happily buy the Collider back if I run into a cheap one. Been eyeing the new cheaper Boss 200-series too. They seem to be a lot more hands on than the 500-series was which I had earlier.
For ambient type reverb I guess I’d choose the Mercury 7 from the ones I’ve tested. The ability to pitch the reverb down an octave or a fifth is great. And the cathedral algorithm is just huge.
@Wolf-Rami
Ok me it’s for synth.
Polymoon looking great too!
Ok nice feature !
Thanks for your tips!
You use it with guitar or synth?
What “type” of tracks do you make with?
Got limited edition actually
Thanks
So nice to travel in ambiant sphere?
Try another reverb?
This or merc 7 are my choice actually
Do you have try another?
Sure, at the moment I’m using Specular Tempus (delay/reverb), EHX Cathedral (Reverb), Audio Source Nemesis (Delay) and to experiment before bying other FX, I use the Zoom MS70CDR and Zoom G3N. And I also experiment a lot with the NTS-1 as an FX box.
And actually the Nightsky is my first Strymon, because I always felt they sound almost too perfect and ‘universal’, but I seem to be very wrong, because I just love this Strymon. If all Strymons respond like this one, I might switch over quite fast.
Plus one for the big sky…i have posted elsewhere that you could vomit into a microphone and the big sky would make it sound like angels singing…it has a strong character but and that can start to build up if you use it on multiple tracks.
I also am a huge fan of the t.c. electronics HOF2 downward shimmer…its lush, its dark, and not too overbearing with a character so you can add that shit to everything…
Wow nice set up !
Which synth do you use with?
Do you have link of track with?
+1 ok
Hall of fame 2 yes, on guitar or synth?
Dark ooohhh i’m interested!
Sky is light side for you?
5 Elektrons (A4, 2 Models, 2 Digis), Korg MLXD, ASM Hydrasynth, DSI Mopho, Moog Sirin, Soma Lyra-8, 3 Moffenzeefs (Stargazer, MSG, Intensifier), Neutral Labs Elmyra, Conductive Labs NDLR, Korg NTS-1. And waiting for Fred’s Lab Töörö and Astronaut V3 Reverb. All patched via a Patch Bay.
@Bionicvinnie
Great!
After much internet digging, I recently got a Zoom RV-500, and I don’t regret it !
Its audio quality is quite comparable to Strymon and Ventris, but you can tweak the algos and the sound much more !
IMHO, an understated pedal, full of possibilities, and enabling lot of experimental uses. Pretty valid for diverse soundscapes.
take a look at this vid :
Will check it thanks
