Roland System-1
Uno Synth Pro X has paraphony if that compromise is acceptable.
A Roland Alpha Juno or MKS-50 with programmer can be had for under 1k, might have to hunt/haggle a bit.
I think a Boog Model D contrasts with what you own, in experience as much as sound.
Not just knob-per-function but logical patch positions. Big knobs. Ergonomics are good. Sounds bonkers.
- Korg Monologue and SH-01a for instant gratification and fun (SH can also be polyphonic)
- Neutron if you donāt mind patch cables and not having presets (or some B clone)
- Microfreak as a near knob per function paraphonic with a lot of flexibility (I guess Minifreak would be even better+polyphonic)
- honorable mention: TD-3 for what it does
Minilogue is my favorite that Iāve played
Korg monologue & Twisted Electrons MegaFM are both plenty close to knob-per-function and in that ~$500ish range. iāve got both and would recommend them.
i donāt have the Norand Mono but iāve seen them used around that price and it looks to be mostly knob-per-function as well. Soma Lyra also sorta fits the bill from my understanding of it, again i donāt own one tho, is around that price range (but probably a bit on the wilder side than what youāre looking for)
Reface CS is still one of my favorites.
