Hello
Where can I find the controller data in Syntakt?
If I’m recording a track, for example, and I’m automating volume?
Where can I delete or edit the controller data?
Best Regards Tonka
I’m not sure if I understand you correctly.
Do you mean when recording midi controller data in a DAW? If so, I guess you can find this in the automation lane in the relevant track in your DAW.
Or do you mean when real time recording encoder movements in the Syntakt sequencer? The Syntakt only records step values for each of the discrete steps in the sequencer. You can access the step values by entering grid mode (press the record button), then press and hold the step you want to edit or check the value of. If you want to see the volume of a particular step, go to the Amp page and you will see the locked value of the volume parameter on that step on white background with black text.
Edit: to delete the data, just push on the relevant encoder while holding the step button.
I probably missed that one, but I understand tweaking the Elektron knobs while recording in for instance Ableton doesn’t record the cc’s? Not that it’s a showstopper for me or anything, but I wasn’t aware of that.
Yes, I mean the encoder settings.
So there’s no automation track in Syntakt.
If a trig is recorded over a bar and I open and close the filter, the automation information is on that one note (trig).
Thanks for the info.
Yes that’s correct, but you do have «trigless trigs», basically trigs that don’t trig the envelopes or affect pitch, but can hold parameter values like volume or filter cutoff. If you tweak an encoder during real time recording, they will be generated automatically. They are coloured yellow, while the regular trigs are red in grid mode. You can enter them manually as well. In grid mode, hold function and press a trig button.
thank you now I understand
To view any ‘parameter locks’ on a specific step , hold down the step and any numbers that change to white block with black text ( invert ) are those that have changed
If you want to remove that change , continue holding the step and press down the relevant encoder ( the ones on the right side of the device )
To change any parameter on a step , hold the step down and twist the encoder of the relevant encoder.
This type of editing is a big feature on all elektron devices.
