Digitakt II 1.02/1.03 : Bug reports

Also occurs with pop up lists scrolling, when you choose a sample slot.

SMP 2 instead of MID 2
Edit : in fact it goes back to One Shot machine after a Whole Pattern Clear.
So it shouldn’t display midi settings.
It goes back to normal selecting another page.

So @Choice_Studio I confirm this display bug. Please report it.

(Kit Data related imho)

I can’t reproduce that (the mis-labelling as SMP) at all. Are you on firmware 1.02 ?

EDIT: It appears I missed the crucial “in settings menu” in the bug description. I was clearing using the clear button.

I could. See above.

Me too at first. Then I thought it was KIT DATA related, hence PATTERN settings menu…

usb audio level 1.3dB lower:

i use 3 test files,-20dB/-18dB/-12dB 1000hz sina(they both very accurate and precisely show in the meter when I added them to Ableton or reason)

But I put them into dt2’s track, and use usb audio into ableton audio track and meters,dt level all to max(unity I thought)
Src level 127
Amp vol 127
Track level 127
Pattern vol 127
Main vol no effective to sound
All filter EQ comp dist and effect off

Please see picture:

No matter -12 -18 or -20, the actual level from dt2 both lower 1.3dB

I did another test use hardware audio output to audio interface and Ableton, the dBu level looks accurate than usb audio.

I did these test for find a gain structure of dt2, besides the 1.3dB lower of usb, the dt2 have a very simple level structure, totally digital dBFS kind of concept( very much different to Octa’s design)

-12 dB 1000hz sina added to sample slot
Add to track
Src level 127
Filter off
Amp vol 127
No effect or distortion
Track level 127
No master compressor or overdrive
Main vol max

Balanced cable to audio interface( in put unity gain)
-6 dB trim( because dt2 Main outputs level: +18 dBu peak compared to +24dBu=0dBFS standard, there’s 6dB short on headroom)

The Ableton meter show -12dBFS peak level

Well not so much ‘a bug’, but when i turn both C and D rotary knobs simultaneously theres a short glitchy effect on the screen.

The solution would be not to do so.
(used to love thrashing those knobs on the DN to get crazy glitchy sounds and artifacts)

cheers :metal:

Hi there. Does anyone know if the bug still exists where DT becomes laggy with external mixer global FX active when using an external midi controller?

Any chance this will ever be addressed with DT1?

Cheers

Not a Bug but Wrong Key Combination in Manual

Page 87: 17. KEY COMBINATIONS

"TRACK SEQUENCE (ALL TRIGS ON THE TRACK)

When in GRID RECORDING mode.

[TRK] + [RECORD] to copy the active track’s sequence.
[TRK] + [STOP] to paste the copied track’s sequence to the active track.
[TRK] + [PLAY] to clear the active track’s sequence. "

But it’s:

[FUNC] + […]

isn’t it?

This happens to me all the time when turning a knob if I accidentally brush my finger against another knob. Weird as I’ve never seen this in the MANY years of using other Elektron devices, so I’m hoping it can be fixed. Very distracting for live performance.

Am I going mad or has the option to route the FX pre/post comp completely disappeared from the DTII? The architecture diagram in the manual still shows the option but I can’t find any other mention of it or find where it can be changed on device.

On DT1 you could set the Reverb to pre-comp on the Reverb fx page.
On DT2 it’s in Setup > Compressor Routing (its second page has the Send toggle)
This sends all FX through the Comp though, not just Reverb.

Is it just my DT2, or has anyone else experienced this bug?

It seems like sometimes it misses when a button is released or something, so and thinks it’s still pressed down and that cause weird behavior.

Welcome to @daddy

Seems like 1 or more button is stuck, maybe REC…
Not a bug but a physical problem imho.

Run Test mode (Hold Func + power up).
Press trig 1.

Press trigs and check behavior on the screen, leds…

Are you on the latest firmware? There was an issue shortly after release where some people (including me) were experiencing a ‘double tap’ thing where some buttons were sporadically either not firing first time, or were firing twice in quick succession. It was fixed in a subsequent firmware update

Hi, I’m not sure if it has been mentioned before, but I noticed yesterday that clearing trig locks doesn’t work on retrig parameters, but works on other ones. It even says clearing trig locks, but the locks stay the same.

Hi everyone, I’ve got a very strange bug
I just received my unit, firmware 1.02.
I played few hour with it without trouble.
Building a pattern, copying it, making variation, the usual stuff.
But suddenly the copying process produce errors, at first sometimes, now I just can’t copy anything. When accessing the newly created pattern, I get an ERROR in the upper part and the UI is messed up.
Entering the “Machine” menu, it seems that none is selected.

I tried :

  • rebooting
  • creating a new project
  • formatting the drive
  • retransfering the OS

Bug still here, It makes the whole thing just not usable for me.
Should I return the machine ?

To top it off it seems that I can’t send a ticket to support with more info because “Error establishing a database connection”

Alas, as a dev myself I understand the complexity of such systems but it always sucks when you’re the one getting the buggy unit

SRC page :

Database is back at mine.
You should probably be able to access the website too.

It seems the website is back.
But you can also send a mail to support@elektron.se, if you still cannot drop a ticket.
