I don’t need another 61 key… prefer a little more compact But still I could live with that!
Its just the experience inputing programming with keys is just better… The Analog Keys really is a better experience that the Analog four Ive had both… Still have the Keys. Definite keeper.
It would be my dream to buy a Digitone II Keys and to discover it arpeggiates external devices through midi out.
Ftfy
DNII is such an amazing synth.
I also like AK form factor and look.
Width of 3 Digis or 2 Octatracks (MD, MNM, A4/AR MKI).
There is the word “keys” in it…
Maybe “Omnitron” means something very bad in Swedish ?

Make it 2k€, I don’t care, I’ll buy it.
If we’re lucky, they’ll think outside the singular box and make the ultimate flagship,
an Elektron style workstation keyboard. (Combo Digitone 2, Digitakt 2, and maybe various digital machines from MNM, MD, Syntakt, and Heat+ analog drive/filters.
It would be the first $3,000+ instrument that I’d buy, without a second thought.
I feel like the current trend toward keyboard synths is making them more compact so it serves a larger market, like how Korg is doing all their synths with 37 keys and Sequential with 44 keys. At least the mini keys trend seems to be going away, but I don’t think 61 key synths are very popular at the moment. And while I agree that there would be a market for it, I imagine it would be smaller for an Elektron isntrument, since the company is more in the groovebox space than the live keyboard/band space.
I just want to hop on here and say I really hope they do a Digitone II Keys, and I personally hope they’ll maintain the side by side layout. I love that I can keep it on my desk without it taking up too much depth, and I really like having three different ways to use it:
- As a standalone synth, by putting myself in front of the synth controls
- With the keys integrated, by using presets, the keyboard and the knobs above the keys
- As a MIDI controller, it’s the best feeling set of keys and knobs I’ve ever used!
There’s nothing else out there like it and I for one hope they just evolve the synth side to incorporate the new Digitone II engine. That is all I really want. I mean, well, if they want to add poly aftertouch and MPE that would be nice, but I really just want the new engine (and the white display)
DNK II would be an insta-buy for me. No need to change the form factor, just plop the new engine in the same chassis and I’ll be happy. I wrote the same to Elektron right after the DN II release.
Plus LEDs above the keys and midi arp
I don’t think the new digitone two is able to have midimap, which is pretty important to the keys model… so I don’t think it will happen but maybe… I would think they would do something with different kinds of synthesis for the premium they would have to charge… the digitone keys never did that well…
Love having a big keyboard paired up with elektrons. Being able to plock disparate note values almost instantly is the way, for me. Not sure the kb needs to be built in but it’s a very worthy suggestions
Curious why you don’t think it’s able to have MIDI map?
I read that from current owners… why is that wrong? Does it?
I would buy one. AK form factor. There’s one feature that I wish every synth had that pretty much only this synth does. Single button to switch keyboard from local control to midi control. I really wish my other keys keys could do that.
The digitone is an underrated secret weapon.
The digitone keys is a musical ICBM you never saw coming.
I will have $1,5k forever waiting on my bank account, just in case, for a possible DNK2. Let me give you money, Elektron.
PS: DNK form factor = the GOAT
The dream device.
