I would love a DNIIK in AK format (Keygitone?), with at least 2, or better 3 stereo outs and some additional controls + enhanced MIDI with retrigs and arp.
DNII definitely needs a proper keyboard.
Yeah I think this is a case Iād pay above the odds too. Agreed on AK format and as many outputs as possibleā¦. Generally additional features/shortcuts to make up for the extra studio realestate would be very very welcome
as for what to call it. Yeah I like KEYGITONE. But itd have to be shortened to DIIK right?
Dnk2 would probably be really fun with a keyboard, more knobs and multimap, i wounder how theyd tackle the multi output dilemma, 16 stereo outs would make it a ridiculous size unless they did mini trs, maybe assignable output busses?
Iād love 16 outputs BUT i think 4(or moreā¦ one can dream) stereo outs which you could assign tracks to would be good, (drums, pads, stuff, misc(?))
MD had multiple outs that could be assigned, I think this would be the way to go for the Keygitone.
They never made an analog keys mkII. They also didnāt make a keyboard version of the monomachine after they updated the ādesktopā version twice. So if precedent has been set, then no digitone keys mkII. But who knows if precedent matters
I hope that DNII being a II rather than a mk2 will mean they do make a keys version.
If its a year after I reckon the bugs will be pretty well squashed by the time they do a Keys so thats probably a good thing for me and my complete lack of patience!
A couple of changes vs. Analog/Digitone Keys and it would be a hit: 49 keys, sustain pedal in, multiple ins/outs, midi arp, LEDs above keys, redesigned real estate above keys (so that itās compact and ergonomical vs. just being a Digitone with a tacked on keyboard)!
Yeah I think if they give a keyboard another try, they should probably go all in and try to win over keys players who donāt typically buy Elektrons. Give it more keys, assignable outputs and some more (performance!) controls. Donāt know if theyād buy it, but their previous keyboard versions seemed to be too niche/āspecialā for your average keys player. And us synth and drum machine heads usually prefer the module. Maybe with DN II they have a shot at winning over more of the gigging keys player audience than before? Market it as a preset machine that offers nice VA sounds as well as classic FM bells and whistles (pun intended). And can play some accompanying drum beats as a bonus.
they shouldāve never dropped the AK chassis and therefore it would be awesome if they release a DNK and Analog keys MK2 in parallel within that form factor š«”
like Behringer does with the hinged cases, re use, itās ok idk
Surely there will be a Digitone II Keys rightā¦ Right!?
I know they wonāt do it but throw on 2 tracks of Sampling and My God what a machine THAT would be.
Preferably it would not be of the elongated cheese board design I think more more in line with How Analog Keys was in size and form factor etcā¦ but either way I would buy a Keys version in a Heartbeat.
