DT2 - Transferring whole patterns from one project to another?

Can somebody point me to a guide that lays this out?

I’ve a performance coming up and I’ve patterns scattered across multiple projects, and I need to assemble these patterns, their related samples etc. to one project.

Elkherd seems fantastic for reorganising patterns inside of a single project, but I can’t intuit how to easily do this when transferring patterns BETWEEN projects.

Thus far, it seem that the only way to achieve what I want is thus - For each of the 10 patterns I need to copy:

  • Go in to each track and write down which samples these use
  • Copy the pattern
  • open up your new project
  • copy the pattern into this project
  • Go and find your list of samples
  • Load these into each of the tracks of this pattern inside its new project

This would take me about 2 hours. Is there an easier way?

@DaveMech explains how to do it in his Elk-Herd tutorial

OK this achieves what I’m looking for. Thank you!

After all… your situation is exactly why I wrote elk-herd!

Let me know how it goes for you.

I think I’ve got my head around it and I’ve achieved what I needed to do. Many thanks for your time and effort in making it :grinning:
