Eternal Research Demon Box

There’s an upcoming box to turn EMFs into “musical” sounds, kinda like a Soma Ether but with more bells and whistles and drills…

There’s a short demo on the ER website too:

Tres cool! I just picked up a used Soma Ether (thank @DonovanDwyer!) and I’m having a ton of fun with it.

Portability seems key to get the most out of it though – I wonder how they handle this with the “Demon Box”? Maybe it can still be battery operated?

reminds me of an episode of Ghost Adventures I saw where the one dude tried to get a ghost to talk through his Arp 2600m with some random patch and cranking the reverb up all the way. I laughed pretty damn hard at that one.

That looks incredible and the demo sounds marvellous, but no doubt it’s going to be very expensive.

Eternal Research will be showing the Demon Box this week at Knobcon. ( Knobcon thread )

No doubt this is to get some attention in preparation for the Kickstarter this Fall.

Eternal Research has the Demon Box up on Kickstarter now. They set a very low threshold and are well beyond that now, so this is a go.

Chainsaws are always good in. concert.

They were at Knobcon this past weekend.

I see they got assistance ( probably with DSP code ) from Infrasonic Audio maker of the Warp Core phase distortion module. Perhaps that also means they are based on the Electrosmith, though that is only a guess.

ADDED : I’ve heard ( from the “dead” Knobcon ) that the CV output from this is also quite interesting and useful. It won’t be what sells this box ( triangular prism ), but it certainly doesn’t hurt. Odd use is to run a light show.
