Headphones (1/4 jack) recs?

Hello!

I am new to this complex and often disorienting world of synths and electronic music. I recently bought a Model:Cycles and was looking for a pair of headphones I can use with the machine, because the solution I came up with is laggy and would prefer just buying a pair of headphones with a 1/4 jack instead of my current laggy setup. My budget is around $50 but would spend $75 if there’s anything cool you would suggest.

Thank you in advance!

If you have some cans with small (3.5mm) jack you could just buy a cheap 3.5 - 6.3 adapter to get you going for peanuts

I don’t think I’ve seen any headphones made in the past 30 years that have a 6.35mm plug. 3.5mm with a (sometimes) bundled adaptor seems to be the standard.

Sennheiser HD650 for example comes with a 1/4" plug and an adapter for 1/8" plugs. But thats’s in a different price range than mentioned by the op.

Yeah, I’d say just get one of these for now, that’ll get you going.

Thank you for all the replies. I have been using some beats wireless using a male to male jack and a 1/4 adapter and it doesn’t work well at all, dunno why. So I’m looking some options.

Do you all recommend any brands in specific?

Just saw these, what do you think?

Thanks again!

Recently got another pair of sennheiser HD 518. Had my first pair since 2013 and only got the second because the earpads on the first were worn out and a lightly used pair was hardly more than just the earpads. The drivers are accessible and can be repaired. Really can’t recommend anything sennheiser enough. The first pair I bought new came with a long cable with 1/4 inch jack on one side and a 2.5mm one that locks into the headphones, but the second I got used had a shorter one with a 3.5mm jack. If you were buying used you might want to make sure they have the 1/4 cable.

Thank you! So they really sell the 1/4 cable besides the adapter. Good to know. :clap:t2:

The adapters I’ve had recently seem to fail quite easily. So I always keep a few spare.

Ugh, yeah, I don’t like to have to build bridges between my equipment, the more I have the more I feel it is gonna be unstable.

I have been looking at two headphones under the same price but can’t decide. Any opinions?
