HELP! Analog Heat MK1 - Firmware / Overbridge

Hello everyone,

I recently bought a second hand Elektron Analog Heat MK1. Its firmware is 1.02. When I install the latest version of the Overbridge software (2.13.4), the device is not detected.

So I tried to update it to the latest version, which is 1.22, via midi cable. This doesn’t work, either with the ‘Transfer’ software or with the SisEx Librarian software. The machine does receive the information, but the screen is stuck at ‘receiving…’, and nothing happens. When I restarted the machine it was still at the same version.

I also tried with Analog-Heat_OS1.11_BETA3 but I get a "‘UPGRADE FAILED CHECKSUM ERROR’

I’ve also tried installing an older version of Overbridge, but my Mac doesn’t recognise it. Please help me as I am unable to use this superb machine.

The Overbridge Engine plugin recognise it, but the line is red with “update firmare” status (screenshot attached)

Mac: M1 Pro 2021
Os Sonoma 14.1.1 (23B81)
Ableton live 12

Thank you in advance for your help,

I don’t know the solution to your problem, but some suggestions:

  • Did you try updating via usb cable and USB Settings on the Heat set to “Midi” (not to “overbridge”)?
  • Do you have the Heat connected with Din Midi AND USB the same time?
  • Is your DIN Midi connected with a USB to Midi Converter Cable? (I had some problems with a noname device not sending sysex data)
  • If USB to Midi Converter Cable - do you have an older USB Hub (USB2)? Try it with this.
(Had Problems with some Midi Converter Cable connected to USB3)
    – Did you restart your Mac?

Hi Jox,

Thank you very much for your advice, it worked for me. I used another computer and plugged the Analog Heat directly into a UBB 2.0 port. Before, it was connected to a USB C 3.0 hub.

Thanks again!
