How do I trigger samples with midi controller drum pads

Hello people…

I have an Arturia minilab 3 and (ofc) an OT. I am trying to trigger the sample trigs of the OT and have tried setting up the minilab in the Arturia midi control centre. The result has been…

utter silence

Is there a way to achieve this?

You need to make sure the channel the pads are set to corresponds to the channel of the track you want to control on the OT, or use the auto channel. These channels can be checked and changed in the settings. You’ll also want to make sure audio note in is enabled, and I would recommend using the MAP/TRACK mode as that allows you to always have control of a particular track via the pads while you do other stuff on the OT.

And of course you also need to make sure the note range of the pads corresponds to the note range of the mode you want to use, for example the slots mode is C-1 to G9. The appendix of the manual will tell you all this.

For triggering different samples on each pad you can either use slots mode or slices if you have some sample chains.
