Introducing Analog Heat +FX

I have FX pedals and Heat MK II. It’s a pain in the ass routing and wiring, and I don’t like dealing with guitar pedals designed to be on a floor. This new box is a convenient all in one. I’ll use it as a send FX on my mixer and put the MKII on the master out.

my nod for a forum friendly reference was for AH+ but on reflection we are worried (from thread admin perspectives and google searches and maybe discourse searches) that the + may create grief in the long term … something robust like AHFX is at least clear, unique and searchable … but this is a bit of a sideshow until folk get these in their hands and want to discuss the joys of FLOW etc

i understood it to be built on new analog circuitry though, might be a fruitless wait …

confirmed: +FX is as useless for searches here as on google - for our own sake (especially moderation merging topics) i believe we need to forget the + from our thinking here

AHFX seems unavoidably concise and robust and is pretty much number one above anyway in our straw poll, removing the non-viables

…AHX…?

(the x could be the last letter, a multiplication sign, or a sideways + sign)

Or Heat FX - HFX

unexpected and nice to see they’ve been working on a revised version of the AH, i like they implemented a way to arrange the effects in the flow page, much like on effects pedals…bbut, where’s the fader? :smirk_cat: :smile_cat:

I certainly don’t disagree. The thing is, after a certain point there becomes incentive to upgrade the tools. The reverb and delay configurations are not different from existing Elektron boxes. The send/return options, LFO targets (barring some Syntakt) are. Chorus is already familiar as an effect on the Digitone as well (and can be applied to incoming audio). The SRR/BR of BITS are present in a non-FX manner on the Digitakt, and in the SY BITS machine of the Syntakt. Users of those two devices will have new ways to play with these tools on AHFX, but the tools themselves are still familiar.

You could DIY portamento on Syntakt before they added it in an update, but at a sacrifice. When Elektron drops an update that minimizes the workarounds with sacrifice, they are praised for good reason. WARBLE is a completely new standalone effect that hasn’t been seen in an Elektron box before, and my point is, I think many folks who wanted more FX (myself included) were anticipating things of that kind of nature from the get-go. Either way I’ll be watching from the sidelines on what updates bring.

For the sake of clarity, there is already a 2nd LFO in the AH MkII. You probably mean a 2nd LFO that is less menu-divey, right?

Sorry, I meant the same LFO page with another LFO - I forgot that it is 2 to 3, not 1 to 2.

Yep I agree but it could be added in future updates. Looper / sequencer for rhythmic -glitchy - granullar - lemondrop - cosmos like fx . . . me dreams

do tell on that character knob then … i’ve thought about doing that (as we can see on the AHFX) they’ve gone for a grey more like the reflective tops of the encoders

curious - it’s my mission to remove those easily stained grey knob caps, probably a factor in the migration to all black across the board (wrt warranty swaps)

Looks good in full stealth  but the white screen on AHFX is a step up

I’m not gonna buy the AH +FX but I do want that reverb in the Digitakt.

I modeled the knob up in Solidworks and printed a replacement in black ABS like resin

My 3 Digi boxes are all blacked out now, as is the Func button on my A4 MkII.

I quite like the yellow screens, I want one on my A4!

It’s there…

Are the reverbs the same? I thought they were different.

Looks like the best small processor box in the market atm, packed with compression, eq, filter, saturation, and some other cool stuff packed in. Would love to try this on my live set-up.

I would buy this immediately if it had inputs for my Digitakt, Digitone, and Syntakt, with ability to control fx levels, and types, for all three inputs separately.

I guess I’m still holding out for the Elektron performance mixer with lots of inputs, lots more fx types, fx sequencer track, etc.

I feel like this product might be a stepping stone towards that performance mixer lots of people dream of. More power to Elektron. I hope this sells really well. Just not quite what I was hoping for. Maybe it’ll come down the road.

I just feel like there is a missing box to tie the Digi’s together into a beast of a desktop sans-computer mini-studio. But, maybe not? OverBridge is a heavy investment of time and money into bringing things into the computer for finishing off.
