Good point that I didn’t consider.
Having couple of go to LFO settings I usually use, I have set up preset sounds having those settings ready to go (random LFO on velocity for hats for example). So just a default state of a track with only LFO set up.
My suggestion:
- Navigate to relevant MOD/LFO page
- Long press Dest encoder until it starts flashing, entering “Learn” mode
- Next tweaked/pressed parameter on any page becomes Dest
(Press No or long press Dest again to cancel)
Nice stuff, can’t wait to grab my DT2
Sorry if it wasn’t clear - that’s how I think it should be implemented, not how it is
I suggested a similar but slightly simpler idea:
at the top of the pop-up LFO dest list, the last-adjusted param is shown as an available dest.
Must say I only skimmed the conversation before posting - but yes, that would work well too
I use LFO on LFO a lot but could we rearrange the pick list the way we move samples around??
Not sure I love this idea but for the lfo selection: 1st encoder press (or first yes) = Macro destinations (LFO1, Filter), scroll, select, 2nd press (or 2nd yes) = Micro destinations (lfo1 rate, filter cutoff).
But definitely think LFOs should be at bottom of list under current circumstances.
Best suggestion yet.
Waiting for @re5et to shut down the LFO conversation.
That is to say ?
Also interested in the way you modulate lfos. I used them to make sines with random depth, but now I may use random slew.
Multiplier is also an interesting destination, but live recording + Probability is interesting too.
Yeh , yet another recurring discussion the seems to be on loop every few hours
It’s easier to mute … I could remind people of search function or even scrolling up a few pages to see the same conversation… but people will think I’m grumpy.
join the club (technically they’d be right about me)
The chances of doing anything about tidying this topic are nil, it’s a snapshot-in-time catchall for chatting and will never be viewed as a resource to revisit - it’s not worth the effort to move stuff or to get overly bothered about
Wiki type topics and ones which are viewed by others are a different matter, but yeah, i f people are sharing wisdom, it would be better done elsewhere in a natural topic to go find it later
Lower-frequency elements in your mix, such as bass and kick drums, often sound punchier in mono rather than stereo** , so avoid width on your low-frequency elements if you want them to punch more
Regarding missing modulation destinations, including sample slot. Support confirmed these are going to be added and are currently missing due to a bug, they were left out until the bug can be corrected.
Thing is … there are soooo many diverse trains of thought, many still ongoing, within this one thread. So search is only going to help reduce the clutter if its a query with a definitive answer.
It’s almost like DT2 now deserves it’s own category in the forum … opinions, mods ?
a list of mono songs ,all bangers https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXLbUcfI__AatPQHpFKdU-SlkVMk5ncfp
Good advice too bad as extensively noted we can’t sample mono into the unit currently please Elektron let us mono people sample direct!!
I wanna sample like mono people
I wanna do whatever mono people do
