Get a birdcord instead. Mine works fine even for the Syntakt (12V/2A) so it will surely work for the Digitakt (12V/1A).
Youāre right. Manual suggest 2A power supply, but specs the device at 1A
Question for yāall
Iām getting my new digitakt in a couple days.
I wanna sample some 808 subs and bass samples.
If I wanna be able to have the pitch track properly. For example tuned 808ās.
What note should I play when I record it in? A C3?
Itās this one:
Itās the one I used for my now sold OT. Itās strange that the max current on the picture above is 0.75A, while the one I have is 1.0A. But the output is different, so I guess they are different specs.
Factory samples usually come as C but whether is 3 or 4, you need to test. Iād record higher so when pitched down has a bit of character to get the filters and drive excited down the line.
For anyone in the US, Adafruit has quality PD cables. Iāve been using them on multiple Elektron devices including DT2 for about a year now.
That looks nice, could run of my macbook easily then too. You can get them in the UK here: USB Type C 3.1 PD to 5.5mm Barrel Jack Cable - 1.2m long with E-Mark - 12V 5A Output
It was like that with syntakt after its release So many complaints and dissatisfaction. You donāt see much of that now.
USB Power Delivery (PD) is the future. I bought a 9V and 12V cable off of Amazon about a month ago, and they work amazingly well, either off a plug or a battery pack.
I just lost a few hours cooking with the factory sounds and while Iām fully aware of the honeymoon glasses, my jaw is pretty much on the floor
I understand the grievances of people who are accustomed to the standards of other contemporary workflows, but the digitakt is less of a sampler than it is its own distinct instrument with a sample-based sound engine
No bugs were encountered besides low-level volume when internally resampling, but I wasnāt going too deep (you donāt have to go too far to make it sound amazing)
I hope they get addressed soon for everyone whoās frustrated right now though
I feel the same way!
In my opinion, the DT2 is a different machine than the DT1. And in a better way.
Good stuff
The DT2 really pushes me into different directions musically. Iām making a lot more Polka now.
I donāt have mine yet, but I do know this
the Digitakt 2 has 2 inputs for sampling, the digitakt 2 also samples via usb, that makes it more of a sampler than typical samplers, for example an mpc canāt even sample via usbā¦ so in conclusion my level of expectancy is without a doubt in my mind appropriate, intense, and unwavering in the sheer frenzy of itself!
Be excited. Itās super dope
Is it known if the low audio inputs are a hardware problem or software problem that can be fixed?
Elektron is apparently aware of the issue and someone who works there has stated on the forum that it will be fixed
Hopefully that fix will come in the form of a firmware update
This isnāt really a bug, but trigs with a length that spread over more than one page will not play back on page loop if the page being looped doesnāt contain the initial trig (this is an insane sentence)
How to explain / replicate:
- Create a 32-step pattern
- Select a loop from the samples to play on track one
- Place a trig on the first step on the pattern with a length of 32 steps
- Select the stretch amount and specify the appropriate number of bars (make sure to shorten the decay time in the amp section)
- Everything should be working fine at this point
- In grid recording mode, press PAGE and then trig 10 to loop the second page
- The loop will not play
This makes sense because the trig that starts the loop is only on the first page, but it disqualifies using the stretch machine and page loops simultaneously in this way
I guess the workaround to this would be to resample the loop and use the grid machine to divide it into evenly distributed trigs across the pages
Does anyone have any better ideas?
This surprised me yesterday.
You can increase track Level, sample Level, and Amp Vol.
But anyway, how to get unity if it is normalised ?
MacBook canāt provide the power needed
I use one (Birdcord) with the Syntakt, which has the same power specs. I can definitely recommend it. The 12V PD version expertly gets the job done.
