those sound excellent
Solid groove!
Shitā¦just lost an entire song. Something to do with kits. Oh well, led me to a fun experiment
I wondered how far I could get from scratch in 30 minutes ā¦ spent 45 minutes on this little pattern. Of course I have a lot to learn, and I usually spend much more time on a track than 45 minutes
But ā¦ itās ā¦ something
Probably 15 superfluous minutes.
ssseeezzzz really nice!
was going to post this in tips and tricks but iām not sure thereās anything in here that most of us donāt really know about
some noteworthy things that are mentioned:
- how to decouple velocity from volume and assign it to the other parameters to function as a macro control
- key tracking is a commonly overlooked feature that can also be assigned to four parameters (five i guess if you count the option on the filter page) and has the potential to get totally wild
- mario wink winks about the lfo page now being labeled āmodulationā and mentions that there is remaining cpu headroom for updates
- marioās contribution to the factory patterns is a05 if you want to take a look at his workflow/mindset
- they both mention that this currently either their favorite or the best elektron box
Damned. Youāre right, the LFO button was labeled āLFOā on OG and is now labeled āmodulationā. Elektron projects for this II was right before my eyes.
I also noticed it when it occurred to me that it would be could to chose the envelopes in lieu of waveforms in the MOD section.
So hopefully itās coming
Multiple simultaneous destinations per mod source would be a nice addition tooā¦ even without independent amount controls
Velocity is the only macro control with Control All !
I expemented it a bit with ST, powerfull. You can mix or mangle all tracks with 1 knobā¦
New modulations are welcome, and new envelopes curves settings for each ADR stageā¦
Elektron gear lack snappy enveloppes. Exp lfo is a workaround, but lfos are precious.
Iād need more than 4 key tracking destinations in Key Tracking page ! Not overlooked by me btw.
Post-Acid IDM Ambient ride on Elektron Digitone 2 and Machinedrum.
Directly recorded on 1010 Bluebox - no further FX.
Some Mastering Magic done in post using Ozone 10
I love the Track!
Syntakt updated
Iām totally new to the Elektron ecosystem.
Am finding the sequencer kinda hard to get my head around. Yes, Iāve looked at the manual, but I find vid tutorials are a much easier way for me to grok stuff.
Is it the same basic set-up on the DNII as on the OG DN? That is, if I watch a tutorial explaining the OG DN sequencer, will that explain how to use it on DNII? Or are they quite different?
Forgive my ignorance
Donāt have a DN2 but the answer in general is yes. You can get the basics of the DN2 sequencer from learning about the MK1.
Cool, thanks @Jacob
You should be able to get a lot out of DN tutorials for the DN2, although itās worth noting that there are a bunch of improvements and new features in the DN2 that you may want to look for (e.g. newly implemented retrigs, separating probability/fill/conditional trig settings into separate parts, note edit, Euclidean)
Probably at least check out Loopops review of the DN2, he does a good job of pointing all of these things out.
I wonder if parameter slide or some as of yet unnamed feature will appear in the Modulation section in a future update
I enjoyed this and learned something, thanks for sharing it on this thread!
