Jomox Loop Resonator?

Anyone got any info on the Jomox Loop Resonator?
It appears as though there’s exactly one pre-release demo on the web. I’m curious to learn more.

Tbh I gave up on waiting and bought a Moonwind :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah this does look interesting

I’ve been holding out for this thing. They took it down from their site a few months ago, and im pretty sure the Jomox site has no mention of it now, though I haven’t looked in a while

demo from 2019 said it was due out mid 2020. But that was before… 2020.
Hopefully they will be something to see soon.

there were some TERRIBLE demos on the web - by one of the Jomox guys… can’t remember his name right now.
I respectfully criticized a video he did demostrating the latest incarnation of the Loop Resonator (again, terrible video - I think it wasn’t even a line-in recording) but I think since then he deleted the video… they had added some horrible footswitches that made no sense since this is definately a tabletop unit… an external footswitch option would’ve made more sense. also, made it look a lot uglier.
I used to be a T-Resonator user, and to be honest I miss it quite often (I also confessed this on my post on the video) but eventually sold it to save for an Analog Heat… couldn’t stand the ridiculous hiss floor, and the extreme frequency cut on the high-end…
I’ll try to find the video, but I think it wasn’t accessible anymore

EDIT: the video has since been made private, but this was my comment:
“Dear Jürgen, as much as I love Jomox (and miss my T-Resonator a lot, probably the piece of gear I miss the most!) I think the video demos in the product page do a bit of a disservice to the product - too confusing and messy. I don’t mean to be rude - to the contrary, I think it could help to have a few demos which are more clearly layed out (and recorded with direct input audio).
On the other hand, although many of the new features sound exciting ( audio and knob recording and looping, MIDI control, SD card storage) I must admit that the foot switch addition throws me off a little, for a couple of reasons - not only it disturbs it’s beautiful form factor, but also those switches are quite uncomfortable to press with your hands, and quite noisy (clicky) when used on intimate venues (ie. experimental music concerts). I think it would be much more useful to have external switch input only (like it seems it already has on the front), since this is most definitely a tabletop device. It would even make more sense, in my opinion, to have smaller buttons that don’t take as much space (like those round Alpha Base buttons, for example).
Other than that, I hope some issues are hopefully addressed from T-Resonator, those being: lower noise floor, lower hi-cut (there was a noticeable cut in high frequencies), and maybe (ideally) some kind of limiter so the signal is more even when pushed to it’s extremes. Keeping fingers crossed that amazing delay is still there!
Again, I hope this is being read as positive feedback from a enthusiastic nerd, and not a complaint on an unfinished product. I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina - but I have friends in Berlin whom I’m hoping to visit when the pandemic mayhem eases, so if there’s a chance to visit you at Jomox, I would be more than happy to. And of course feel free to contact me via PM if any of my feedback is helpful - I used to use my T-Resonator on everything from evolving drones to gut-punching techno. Cheers!”

when I talk about footswitches… those are the Line 6 / Electro-Harmonix kind. Terrible for hand operation imho

Sounds like you know your stuff - have you any thoughts on the OTO Boum? My understanding is that it’s a legit alternative to AH MKII.

Also - for hand operation of pedals. Have you every tried barefoot buttons? Mike Love gives a killer demo of solo dub playing barefoot with a bunch of delays… I’ve been thinking of picking up a pair for my blooper.

I don’t know that much about Boum, but you can look for a recent thread specifically comparing Boum to AH… another cheap alternative that I’ve heard thrown around a few times is Strymon’s Deco, which is is more limited but might be interesting for you
