Hi! Just got a DN II but in the note edit menu the KB Chord On/Off toggle option is missing? Can’t find it in the manual either.
Talking about this from DN I track note menu.

This one had me scratching my head why they did not have a chord mode. Maybe an improved version in the works? I hope so.
I doubt they missed the omission and likely made a deliberate choice to not include it. I don’t expect them to add it in the future, but I guess it isn’t impossible.
Another reason to keep OG Digitone, although i think this will be added in a future update
glad to see it wasn’t just me missing it
I hope they come out with a better version of chord mode. A streamlined way to make chord progression
On the OG DN, a simple and straightforward method of placing a chord on a step in grid recording mode…is to hold the trig and press the UP/DOWN arrow keys in conjunction with the YES key. That is my m.o. for creating chords on a step. It is pretty fast, IMO.
On the DNII, the manual describes a menu for adding notes to a step. Without having any first hand experience with the DNII, this new method looks more tedious (though being able to set the duration of each member is a welcomed addition).
Can anyone with experience on both machines comment on the differences in user-interface and user-experience for chord entry?
no chord mode?! lol wut . . .
Being reworked due to the new changes to note editing, etc.? Dunno. There’s still a spot for it in the menu and would be surprised if it were omitted entirely. Enjoyed not having to grab my MIDI keyboard to play chords
I regret trading my DN 1 against DN 2 while missing this CHORDS feature.
Also, wondered why they didnt add it to the Digitakt 2 recently.
Talking about finding missing things( )… Another one is the Global FX/Mix Settings…
I believe Mario took a question about KB Chord at the end of the recent livestream and said it would make a return in a future update.
Just curious - what would be the reasoning behind this deliberate choice of not including it?
Just priorities. But it will be there in a future release!
Awesome, thanks for confirming. This is a key factor in my decision to upgrade.
Thanks for the answer!
once you enter note edit mode, you can place notes on the keyboard. Doesn’t feel tedious at all. and in note edit mode, you can func+left/right arrow to go the prev/next placed trigged or just left/right arrow to go to the prev/next step. As the notes are displayed on the keyboard without having to go back and forth between trig recording and note editing, it’s very fast.
does Note Edit mode snap to or give visual indication for pattern scale quantisation?
And just a note (pun not intended) to newcomers of this thread - this is only about the function that creates a chord based on a scale. Adding played chords manually is always possible.
So a workaround until the feature is there is to learn some chord theory And thinking about it, this thread could probably give assistance for that as well!
